This checkers is located in Clearwater near Dunedin off of Sunset Boulevard next to CVS. I have to say it is the worst most unmanageable checkers I’ve ever seen. I literally pulled in line and ordered a single two for $4.50 spicy chicken and a checker burger checker burger was cold spicy chicken actually wasn’t all that bad but it was the service. I sat there for 22 minutes. The car in front of me had about 10 people in it and it had a (CHRISTIAN) sticker on the outside. I happen to be a devoted Christian! I was with my mom who just turned 90 years old. We were gonna get something quick. It turned into a nightmare, so I got out of my vehicle and walked to the two vehicles behind me and spoke to both of them. They would be willing to move and back out of the drive-through if I needed them too, I told them let me walk around to the front this car in front obviously is ordering a ton of food and it’s taking forever . My two little sandwiches are going to be ice cold by the time I get them so I just simply wanted to ask how long would it take for that blue minivan to get out of the way basically be served. I went up to one of those little windows. Nobody was there. I knocked lightly finally, a young guy Saw me and totally ignored me. That was the first sign of holy cow. What kind of place is this I had a simple question, so then I walked over to the order line and that same gentleman walked right by the window when I knocked and ignored me then he blocked my view on purpose so I knocked a little louder and finally, he opened the window and I spoke to. I guess it was the manager an older lady and I simply asked her very kindly ma’am. I’m in line I just ordered Spicy chicken and a checker burger. My mom‘s not feeling well and I have to go. How long do you think this blue van will be? That’s all I need to know so I know if I need to pull out a line the people behind me said they would be more than happy to move And that lady instead of just answering the question and saying it’s gonna be one minute five minutes 10 minutes whatever it would be her actual response was well. They ordered $90 worth of fast food so I have no idea how long it’s gonna be but I’m sitting here talking to you so it’s not gonna be any less time I said ma’am I just wanna know how long do you think cause I haven’t paid you yet I can just leave trying to give you the respect because if you haven’t cooked my food, maybe you shouldn’t or don’t have to I don’t know, but she just went on and on and started yelling I couldn’t believe it. I was just blown away when finally she threw the bag at me. I gave my card and walked away. I kindly asked the lady in front of me if she would mind just pulling up your orders already done or you’ve already ordered the walk the food out to you or you can just hop out and just grab it at the window. My mom is not well. I just need to go And would you believe they started yelling at me saying that get all my drinks first and then we’ll pull out on my ma’am I don’t work for you. I just wanna know if you’d be kind enough to pull out. My mom needs to go to the emergency room. I need to get out of here. Could you please move your vehicle for me? I’d greatly appreciate it. They started swearing at me Now. I’m not prejudice at all, but they were black African-American. The driver seemed kind. It was the passenger friend that was mouthy and started yelling profanity. I was thankful to get out of there. I threw away the checker burger It was cold and disgusting. And gave the spicy chicken to my mom which she shared with me. I would never go back there ever again the people I think we’re smoking marijuana inside the building as well. It stunk just like marijuana anyway I give it no stars but I had to...
Read moreI live a few blocks from your store. I decided I wanted a couple hot dogs as I usually work nights and stay up late. I walked to your restaurant on Highland Ave. Clearwater, FL which is about a 10 minute walk. It was a very warm and HUMID night! I got to your walk-up window at 1:30 am - HALF AN HOUR BEFORE YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO CLOSE! Your employees immediately told me "Sorry I can't take your order at the walk-up window because this register is closed down." I said "Aren't you open for another half hour?" "Yeh, were open, but drive-thru only" I said "Ok I will walk over to the drive-thru window" (which is LITERALLY on the same corner of the building 2 feet away!!!) "No you can't do that, you have to use your car." I said " I don't have my car, I walked here from my house which is about 10 minutes away." "Well, we can't take your order." I said, "Is the manager here?' Yeh, she's in the back breakin' down boxes- but she won't take your order either." I said, "So there is no way for me to buy food from Checkers right now, even though you're still open for another half-hour?" "Yep, sorry."...and he closed the walk-up window. BTW there were 3 guys on bicycles that also rode up to the walk-up window while I was being turned away by your employee- they were turned away also.
So, by turning away 4 customers in a 5 minute span of time, assuming each customer would have spent around $10, your store lost approximately $40 which would have paid the labor costs of your 2 employees for the 1am-2am hour.
So, the lesson I learned tonight is #1- Checkers' posted hours don't mean anything. #2- Checkers managers are too busy to bother trying to do anything in their power to serve a formally loyal customer. #3- Checkers doesn't care about taking care of their potential customers. #4- The next time I want a late-night snack, FORGET CHECKERS, and go to McDonald's, Wendy's, Taco Bell ANYWHERE ELSE BESIDES CHECKERS!
GOT IT- I'M A...
Read moreWe didn't even bother to order food from this location. Locations in this area have been closing down one by one. So they are few and far between. However this was the one location I knew of that might still be open. So we made the trip to grab lunch and noticed that it looked as if it weren't open as there were no cars in line. As we went to pull into the parking lot we noticed 2 people at the back door so we were excited that YES, in fact they were up and running. Well , apparently the employee standing half inside and half outside the back/side door speaking to another individual has some weird complex about people even looking in her direction. God forbid the public notices other people around them. So said employee decides its unacceptable to notice their existence and decides to snap her head and thrust herself in a " what are you looking at" motion. Well needless to say we drove right back out of the parking lot and will never return. Check the attitude ma'am. Youre not what we were looking at but rather if your place of employment was open. Seeing you was only an indication that you were.
It's bad enough that checkers is closing to the point of being non existent but THIS IS WHY! Employees who can't manage their attitudes and treat their job as if it's their own personal life. So thank you to the woman who seems to think she's that important that customers could only be looking at her in a negative manner before they even make it to the drive thru. You now have made sure that not another dime of my money or anyone in my home goes towards you being employed. This location will end up closed as the others have because the people hired to work there can't manage a professional work ethic...
