The pizza is really quite good. No question about that. I've been going to Tony's since they opened in downtown Clearwater and I believe that my six-year old son may have had his first slice of pizza here however, I probably won't be going back again after tonight. My wife, son and I went to Tony's for pizza. My son ordered a slice off the children's menu and my wife and I ordered a couple of slices each. We were told that we could have pizza by the slice in the dining room - only at the bar area in the back or the at the front counter. I went up to the front counter and ordered two slices of pizza (my wife ordered a salad). After the pizza was put in the oven the owner came up and told me that I couldn't eat the pizza at the table with my family because it wouldn't look good to the other diners. The other diners in the place constituted another couple with a three-year old (give or take six months). That's it. No one else. I questioned how having pizza in a pizza place would look bad and he told me it was just the rule. I asked who made the rule. He said he did. I said well you can change the rule. He told me he couldn't. He did give me back my money on the pizza I paid for which...I wasn't allowed to eat...in a pizza place, though. So, the bottom line; If you plan on pizza, plan on take out only or if you want to dine in you must order a whole pie. I'm so very disappointed - a loyal customer treated like dirt after over ten years. Tony, if you read this, news flash - if you make it, serve it. There's no point in turning away a customer. I'll be relaying this story to all my friends and coworkers. I very much want your business to succeed but you do have to provide customer service. Telling a loyal customer, in essence, that their money is no good send...
Read moreSome of the food that came out was good, especially the Alfredo and pizzia. And I get it, they were ultra busy- but the service was awful and food came out wrong. We had to ask to get my kid a menu, and menus for ourselves. They forgot half of our drinks. It was near impossible to get anyone's attention. When the food did come out half of it was wrong or didnt come out until 10 minuites after one another. Specifically they forgot my Grandpa's sandwich, my grandma got the wrong noodles, and my husbands burger was raw and he was so hungry he didn't realize till he was half way through. He got sick about 8 hours later. They said they would take it off and remake it but then charged us for the remake. They told my grandma she got different noodles because they were out but then we saw other noodle dishes come out 45 minuites later that were literally what she ordered. The only thing they actually took off were the extra sauces which we didn't know we would be charged for to start with- which we desperately needed because they put little to no sauce on my grandma's noodles and my salad. Most of the tables were having issues so clearly they were overwhelmed but they did not handle the customer service part of it well. We shouldn't have to pay for food we didn't order. I do not understand why they would continue seat people if they were having as many issues as they were, they really needed time to gather themselves. We were there almost 2 hours. Not sure if we will go back, but we wouldn't even consider it if they were busy and we would stick to Alfredo or pizzia. Atleast the...
Read moreStopped in with a friend before a concert and waited for a server to take drink orders. We finally got our drinks ordered then waited and finally had to wave a server down to take our food order. We had 4 different people stopping at our table so was not sure how the service worked here. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich as my buddy said the Philly Cheese steak was mediocre at best from a previous visit and he ordered a chicken sandwich with a couple of special requests. My sandwich came out without any Buffalo Sauce and my friends special requests such as adding cheese were not incorporated into his sandwich. We waited and waited for a server to follow up with silverware and finally a young man came by who we grabbed and asked for silverware and explained the defects in our sandwiches which resulted in him bringing me a couple buffalo sauces in to go cups and my friend accepted his sandwich as is as we had no time to wait for another order to correct the problems. The highlight of my dining experience was that I could not even cut the chicken breast I was served with a knife and it literally felt and acted like a piece of rubber! I took one bite and it was the worst sandwich I have ever been served and elected not to even eat it. My friend was hungry enough to eat half of his but was completely unimpressed with his sandwich. At least the tater tots were hot and the drinks were good and the servers were very pleasant but seemed unsure of who was in charge of our table which resulted in a...
