Writing this after my second visit to the Capital Theater and still impressed with the venue. It is an old fashioned intimate venue with good acoustics. The lobby is dominated by a wooden bar with friendly service, there was a rooftop bar listed but a cold evening and did not visit. Please note there is no food sold except pretzels, popcorn and candy so dinner was delayed until after the show. Note the pretzel and popcorn were good. Refreshment prices were typical $4 water, $16 double wine, etc. We attended the Peter White Christmas show and a preshow wine tasting add-on with Wine and Jazz by Mindy Abair and spouse. The wines they offer are small case releases and very good and we are subscribed to their wine club. We were able to secure free parking near the theater and a short walk from the car. Seating is a bit tight in the theater with limited legroom. Also please note if get a seat against the wall may have limited view as sides have wall jutting out guessing support beams. The two shows I have seen there have been short with no intermission and this performance lasted approximately 100 minutes with encore. This was 20th anniversary show and found very entertaining and recommend you consider attending next year especially if a jazz fan. The venue is an easy entertainment experience and enjoyable night out without fighting huge crowds like Amalie. The Clearwater downtown was festively decorated with a large Christmas tree in the park and entire streets of lights.

I am in a wheelchair. The Capitol theatre is a great little place for a show, whether a Play, Comedian or Concert. It seats about 700-750 so all the seats are good. The wheelchair space is good and you are able to purchase companion seats. The theater is lovely on the inside and has ADA access and bathroom, as well as an elevator to go up to a couple of different concessions/ bars on upper floors. The problems we had were finding Handicap parking anywhere near the theater and they had no safe defined area for dropoff at the front of the theater either. After going across the street to use space in front of a condo to drop me off my wife could not find anywhere to park in open lots or 2 parking garages. She finally found a single non handicap space three blocks south and by the time she arrived at the door it had taken 20 minutes. After the concert there was lots of parking so it wasn't due to the Capitol show. We found out that there was also a concert at the Sound in Coachman Park. Terrible planning by Ruth Eckerd hall with little thought for patrons, especially those with ADA issues. They need serious improvement. The Capitol is great, the parking is a nightmare for all.

Came to see Candy Dulfer and Band last night..Concert was great, since she can‘t disappoint anyhow..but, you should consider to replace your so called „security guy“ at the stage..ruining a concert feeling and trying to keep people from having fun..yes, a concert is where people get together and enjoy the same kind of music! And get off the seats and clap their hand and sing a bit every so often.. He tried to stare people back into their seats.. Oh..and then he tried to keep a five year old girl from getting closer to the stage and see her idol..was a poor move! Thanks to Candy, who understood the situation right away and came down the stage..right into the „melting pot“ of the people saying out loud“ wait, she has an appointment with me“ . Lol.. Pic. Attached for recognition. Or maybe the „wall of shame“ leading position.

Concerts at the Capitol are always a great experience. The venue is small and comfortable which makes for an intimate experience with the artists. The sound is amazing and never disappoints. The staff there is quick and friendly.❤ They offer a ticket package that includes a voucher for dinner and a drink at the restaurant across the street before the concert, coupled with seats closer to the stage. I purchased the package and made reservations at the restaurant. The restaurant was clearly overbooked.🤬 It is a small restaurant with a bar and several 4 top tables. People who bought the dinner package were panicking with limited time to eat before the concert.😰 People that were finished eating were not getting up. They were taking up the tables and camping until the concert started.🥺 Many voucher holders left to eat elsewhere. At one point the unorganized and overwhelmed hostess couldn't decide between seating us or another couple at the next empty table. 🥴 I offered to sit together since all the tables were for four. The other couple (strangers) agreed and we ate dinner at a table together. We barely had enough time to eat and guzzle our drink before the show. If you buy the package get to the restaurant a couple hours before the show, don't leave the hostess stand and stay glued to your phone as they text you (maybe😒) or they pick whoever is standing close by to be seated! The food was good though. Extra drinks were very expensive and bar service was slow at the restaurant. Anyway the Capitol is a great venue. The bar service at the concert was quick and painless. Bathrooms were clean and no huge line The restaurant package needs to be dramatically improved on the restaurant's part. I did get 2nd row seats by purchasing the package though so it was worth it...

The acts were superb however the handicap accessibility was horrible! Restrooms wasto far from VIP atea! Suggestion: have VIP restrooms closer to actual event meaning. VIP seating area. Also the VIP seating was horrible as well as wheelchair seating. The wheelchair seating looked as if they were corraled . It seemed to be very difficult to get out to even attempt to leave for anything. The VIP seats were so close togeather you were literally sitting on top of each other! Could not move them as they were tied together. I had Super VIP seating and since my wife was NOT in a wheelchair the handicap section was not even an option. But the problem with VIP seating not only lied in the closeness or not being able to move them but the fact I wanted to remove one chair so my wheelchair could set in that spot! After all we paid for that seat spot we should've had that right but was denied. Had there been an issue that we would've had to evacuate the wheelchair was blocking the walkway. And with the seats too close my wife was not able to sit in the same row which made it hard to converse back and forth. Plus side - the Bands were great. Always enjoy seing our friends The FIXX. And they were real glad to see us as we have seen then every year from the State Theatre,to Jannus Landing, to LCC, and now REH & Blast Fridays. Thanks friends (The FIXX) for another EXCELLENT show! But REH please work on accessibility and...
