I called in to China Express today. I was extremely excited because I’ve heard nothing but good things from my peers. Unfortunately, my initial experience was not the same. I looked up the menu online before I called, realized they didn’t have everything listed and decided to call and talk through my order. When the lady picked up the phone she was screaming. Literally at a top pitch. I ignored it, still was calm and polite. I asked about noodles, she asked me what kind—I asked what kind do you offer. She listed several, I told her which I wanted. She asked what size, I asked what sizes they carried (back home sizes are in pints, quarts, and so on) she literally says and I quote “OHHHH MY GOD”. When I say shocked. As if I knew you only carried two sizes??? Any who, I told her I was either going to eat somewhere else or starve. :)
About 10 minutes later I get a call from another 864 number... I answered and it was this very nice and polite young girl, who I assume to be her daughter. She asked about my incomplete order from China Express. Apologized on behalf of the lady I had previously spoken to and said she was stressed.
Although that does not excuse the fact you chose to act like that.
Anyways, this girl was very nice and patient, they must’ve realized how the first lady was acting because guess what? The young girl called me about 10 minutes later to tell me my food was ready. When have you ever heard of a restaurant calling you to tell you your food was ready to pick up.
In conclusion, I would not have ever eaten here in my life based off of the initial interaction with the first woman, but thanks to her daughter they got my $15. Hope your experience goes well the first time!

Read moreI'm confused how this restaurant has a rating over 4 stars. This is the 2nd time we've ordered here and the 2nd time we weren't impressed at all. Not even a little. I gave 2 stars because ordering online was easy, the food was ready on time, and the lady at the counter seemed friendly enough. But the food both times was a huge disappointment. The chicken & shrimp combo had breading on the chicken which in the sauce made it mushy breading. I've never had chicken shrimp w/vegetables combo at another restaurant that had breading on it. The BBQ wings also aren't good, and the healthy chicken broccoli meal tasted like the chicken was boiled (weird texture) and had zero seasoning.... my kids wouldn't touch it. We live in Pickens which has limited restaurant options but my spouse works in Clemson so we were excited to see a Chinese restaurant in between work and home... but 2x out of 2 we didn't enjoy the food at all so we'll likely not...
Read moreNot like normal, more authentic Chinese food. The chicken is frozen and breaded. This is my first time eating at this restaurant. I ordered Kung pao chicken. Chicken is breaded and comes out of a bag already cooked. It's just warmed up while cooking vegetables. The Clemson students must like it this way. It's more like Panda Express than CHINA Express..... very disappointing if you want regular, more authentic Chinese take out go to Lin Garden in Pendleton or China No. 1 on Hwy 24 in Anderson. Also the price was $12.... same meal at China No. 1 on Hwy 24 in Anderson only $9......
