La Veracruzana — Restaurant in Clemson

My friend and I had takeout there today. He had the steak tacos plain and I had the grilled chicken tacos. We shared a side of beans and rice. We both liked it, the food was good and good portions for the price. We didn't have a chance to sample the pico de gallo, because they forgot to add it to the side of his steak tacos, but the mild salsa and the diablo were both very good. We found that the guacamole was slightly acidic tasting, possibly because of the salsa they added to it. My friend said it tasted as though it were a day old, but it looked very fresh. The tacos are all dressed differently based on the meat choice, so don't assume you will have the standard lettuce, tomato, and cheese. I am sorry that I feel compelled to write this review, but this place is so bad it should close tomorrow, if not earlier, as in NOW, in the nest 10 minutes. While the service was more than adequate, the quality of the food was abysmal. The best I can say is that the ~$12 I spent was best used to inform you to NEVER visit this place. You are free to discount me as a disgruntled customer who finds some insignificant issue to discount the wonders of this establishment, but that is not the case here. This place is a mockery of a travesty of a sham. The term "Mexican" should be not be associated with this "restaurant". I am a 50 year veteran of Mexican restaurants, I love them. Customer service was great and order was ready very quickly. I got the house nachos which were a very generous size for small order. The flavor and freshness or the pico was great, but the pico and maybe some of the other ingredients made the nachos really, really salty. And I have a medical condition that requires me to eat a lot of salt lol. I’m hoping someone was just a little zealous with the salt that day bc I would love to return for an appropriately...
