I was told to come visit this place by a good friend of mine. I was told that everything on the menu would be great. Coming from an Asian background, I had high standards for what I would consider "Exceptional". This was without a doubt the best experience I have had in Clemson.
Onto the food. I went with my roommate and we ordered a Tomago Roll which came with a side of Glass noodles, as well as the special bowl of the day. It was a Beef and Chicken bowl that came with a side portion of Onions and Bell Peppers. It was phenomenal. It came out in no more than 15 minutes from order to table. The vegetables and meat were spiced from a broth that was full of depth and flavor. It genuinely reminded me of home. The portion size is very generous compared to other places and a great deal for the price. The rice bowl I ordered was cone shaped and was filled about 1/4 the way with rice, and then another 1/2 with meat and vegetables. Onto the Tomago Roll, it was hand rolled just after she finished cooking the main entrée. Served with a side of glass noodles. The roll itself was much larger than either me or my roommate expected and was cut into 8 pieces that were half dollar sized. The roll itself was full of flavor and was exceptional. The glass noodles were fresh and complemented the roll remarkably well. In all, the food was exceptional and at an unbeatable price.
Moving onto the service, the lady who runs the place is the kindest women you could ever meet. She loves to learn about customers and treats each as her own family. It is clear that she takes pride in her craft and really takes time to ensure that everything is exceeds the customer's standards. Once she finished, she came out and brought it to our table and (because we came before the dinner rush) she wanted to learn more about her new customers. Genuinely one of the kindest and authentic people you could ever meet.
I will be returning regularly. This will quickly be one of Clemson's best locations to get a...
Read moreThe only way I can describe this meal is like going to your Asian grandmother's house, the one you didn't know you had. We were greeted in a friendly manner. We had never been there before. The reviews were good, so we figured, why not? The only criticism I have about our visit is that the menu has shrunk. I think this has more to do with our bad timing than of the restaurant itself. The owner (May), who literally was working by herself doing both the order taking and the cooking, sat down and had a conversation with us. It was like going to families for lunch while you were served by family and cooked for by family. We both had masaman curry. It was cooked to order. I wanted mild, my partner wanted medium. The drink we were served was a bit of an experiment, but I HIGHLY recommend it. It was a blend of apple juice, ginger, turmeric, cinnamon, and I think a hint of cloves. It was delicious. The restaurant has moved within the same plaza, so there may not be a new sign up. There was ample parking for the Sunday we went out on. The atmosphere is casual, the food is well prepared, and the service and experience is eclectic. We would definitely entertain going again. Some words of wisdom. This is a dining experience. If you're looking for a fast food, in and out experience, this is NOT the place for you. If you want good food where you feel like family is preparing it, then you should enjoy this...

This charming and quaint eatery is just that. I did pickup, and arrived a little early to find the owner chopping fresh veggies for my Bibibap and hand crimping my dumplings. I cannot say I've ever seen such care taken, and it translated into phenomenal food.
The "Crab Angels" were SUBLIME. I know they aren't traditional, and that they were invented by a tiki restaurant, but they are tasty. And these are, no lie, the BEST I've ever had. (And yes, I've had the originals from Trader Vic's). The Jiaozi were quite good, and the Bibi(m)bap was delicious. My only complaint would be that I wish I had eaten in, as the egg firmed up a bit in my drive home (but the yolk was still a bit runny, so SCORE). But that's not on Ms. Mae, the owner/cook/all round sweetie. Next time I'm eating in for sure.
Seriously, if you are on the fence about giving this a try, JUST DO IT. You...
