2 stars for me but 3 for my spouse. Had it not been for the recommendation of a coworker, I never would've tried this place based on the exterior alone. But you know what they say, don't judge a book by its cover, and there were a few decent reviews so we bit the bullet and gave it a try. This is a pay as soon as you walk in buffet, and it came to $30 for two of us since they automatically added drinks without even asking. They handed us plastic cups and plastic utensils, which I wasn't impressed with... and had plastic bowls and plates near the buffet. Serve yourself and get your own drinks, for $15pp seemed a bit much even though I fully understand that prices everywhere have increased. The bar was stocked and everything we tried was warm/hot (it was about 7pm), so that's why my spouse gives 3 stars. The chicken-on-a-stick was dry, and I've never had mushroom chicken that had breading on the chicken but the pieces were all small and all dry breading, barely any chicken. My babies enjoyed the pigs in a blanket that were made with croissant, and the fruit, and I did like that they they had individual ice cream cups instead of those huge buckets like other places. But one last thing, they should change their name since they apparently only serve hibachi Friday...
Read moreFirst of all, we went on a Sunday morning 30 mins after opening. My husband and I were traveling through Clemson. The place looked shady and run down from the outside, which should've been our first clue.
Literally, as soon as you step in the doorway, you pay $34 for 2 adult buffets, there are no menu or service options. You're given plastic forks and styrofoam to go cups/no lids/straws along with your receipt. You have to make your own drink from the fountain machine. There's only styrofoam plates and bowls to use for the buffet. The only item on the tables are a box of cheap napkins. ALL condiments, including salt n pepper, are packets like at a fast food place. When you're done eating, you get up and put your own styrofoam plates, styrofoam bowls, cheap plasticware, and sytrofoam cups in a busboy pan along with everyone else's trash. No one brings you refills, real plates, or even talks to you. The food was horrible. We got the hibachi, and my husband's rice was hard and chewy as was my lomein. The beef tasted old, and the sushi was gross. We didn't even finish our first plates and walked out... of course, after putting all our plastic crap in the buspan. Will not go back. The only thing nice I can say is I didn't see bugs. Zero stars, but that's not an...
Read moreI rlly like their food, but it truly depends on when you go how good it'll be. My biggest issue is I'm pregnant. I have been craving Chinese food horribly and I go there often to get a to go plate. Every time I'm there they open my plate and toggle how much is inside when all they have to do is weigh it. They have never made a blatant comment over it, but they open my plate every time im in there just to see how much I've grabbed. I don't grab a lot, I ring up at 15 or so there. I used to tip but felt offended by this and I've stopped going altogether. Its been more than once, I've been here a year and gone there a handful of times and this has happened. not a lot turns me away from a restaurant but I already have a problem with feeding myself haha so it's really offensive when ppl judge your plate. Anyways I have a compromised immune system and this is an important reason to NOT open people's food and oggle it every time they...
