Welcomed with such kindness by the staff at the Abernathy, despite our late night arrival, delayed by traffic accidents coming down from Pennsylvania for accepted student day. They quickly checked us in and got us to our nice room. Bed was comfy and we crashed from exhaustion. This location is excellent for college events and initial visits. We walked to visitors center, after grabbing breakfast at Sully Steamers. Enjoyed our tour with a friendly soon-to-graduate student. We ate in the student dining hall to see what lunch was like. Then we hung out on campus until going to Charleston Sports Pub for delicious wings and sandwiches. Easy walk back from the small downtown to our hotel, the Abernathy, and another good night sleep for next day of scheduled events. Our son is tigertown bound, for sure! So we expect quite a few visits at the Abernathy. Nice to know we can bring our little 15 lb dog with us, too… Glad to find this place. And really can’t beat its location.

Very nice hotel. I recently stayed at The Abernathy while in Clemson on a business trip. The hotel is quite new and is one of the best options in town. My check-in process was seamless, and the room keys are pretty cool: a keepsake game chip with the slogan "Our Team Is All In For You." I'm a die hard Alabama fan, but I kept the chip as a nice memento. The rooms are very spacious and loft like, with a bedroom area, living area, and kitchen area. The kitchen area includes a large counter, sink, microwave and refrigerator...perfect for football Saturdays. In the morning, I dined at their in house cafe and opted for the apple cinnamon Clemson waffle. It was great! The only downside is that I grabbed a Sprite on my way out and it was six months expired. The staff was apologetic and kind enough to let me grab another option. In all, it's a great place and I'll definitely stay at The Abernathy during my next visit.

We stayed at the Abernathy for a Clemson game weekend, and as someone who has been coming here regularly since it first opened in 2017, I can honestly say the experience never disappoints. In fact, the service and atmosphere seem to get better with each visit. The staff consistently go above and beyond to make guests feel welcome, and the hotel itself is always spotless. Our room was not only perfectly clean but also felt fresh, comfortable, and ready for us to settle in. It’s clear that attention to detail and genuine hospitality are a top priority at the Abernathy, which is why it continues to be our go-to place to stay when visiting Clemson.||Cheryl and Sophia gave us such a warm welcome when we arrived at the Abernathy, and Cheryl was incredibly helpful in guiding me through the challenges of gameday parking with all the activity and excitement around the hotel. Sophia was so pleasant assisting us with everything. She brings such a positive energy and approaches every interaction with genuine positivity.||Abi is truly one of the kindest and most accommodating people I’ve ever met. She treats us like family, making my wife, our three children, and me feel right at home every time we visit. In today’s world, where genuine hospitality can be rare, Abi stands out as an exceptional example of kindness and outstanding service.||I stopped in late one evening to grab a few soft drinks to take back to my room. Zeke went above and beyond—he not only got the drinks for me but also went behind the front desk to find a bag so I could easily carry them upstairs. He truly has a gift for making every guest feel valued and appreciated. We always look forward to seeing him when we visit TAPS, knowing we’ll receive excellent service along with great conversation. Zeke is an outstanding host whose genuine care and dedication elevate the entire experience at the Abernathy—this hotel simply wouldn’t be the same...

The front desk clerk .... Tasha ( perhaps) was the rudest, most disturbing disrespectful hospitality employee I’ve ever encountered! I called the front desk and initially asked to speak to a supervisor or manager. She politely asked what was it concerning and I replied.... there was a party of some kind last night across the hall from my room that continued to run up and down the halls after I asked them to settle down and neither myself or my daughter was able to sleep. She immediately said to me.... I can’t do anything about that! I said to her, I’m sure you can’t if you’re not a supervisor or a manager so once again could you please allow me to speak to either of them. SHE HUNG UP THE PHONE!!! Later after walking downstairs it was determined that there was a baseball team on my floor the previous night which explains the horseplay. After speaking to a manager and briefing him on the chain of events I asked the female front desk clerk if she meant to hang up on me and she quickly replied “yes”. I was speechless with a very shocked look on my face I aske her why would you do that and she replied, at this point you’re harassing me and you’re in my personal space. You need to stand over there away from the counter. She needs to be FIRED.( period) I’m a business owner and if I had an employee tarnishing my brand or mistreating my customers they would be terminated immediately. First impressions are very important. You know it’s bad when you check out of a hotel and decline room credits. I will never return and I suggest everyone to stay away from this property, unless you enjoy...

I don’t know where to begin….right from the very beginning with emails back and forth to Madi who was so wonderful and accommodating to our large family that were traveling from all over the United States for my father in laws funeral in Clemson. To the bartender who was genuine and shared his own experience with his fathers passing, to the sweet ladies who worked the front desk, and to the very best young lady who made chocolate chip waffles with whip cream each morning that put smiles on our children’s faces. The entire stay at The Abernathy was incredible. The rooms were so spacious, comfortable and clean. They provided us with everything we needed to accommodate our family needs. I knew from the emails to Madi and her quick responses back to me that I had definitely picked the right place for our family to stay. Which help take some of the pressure off my already emotional state. Madi, words or a positive review doesn’t come close to the overall experience we received from you and the staff. The kind personal touch goes along way and that is what The Abernathy will be...
