Oh my god, so it’s far and few that I do reviews and this deserves some of my attention.
I’m 3 minutes away from this location, about thirty seconds from starvation cause I haven’t ate all day, and I’m on Google and I find this place. I pull up cause I’m like “shoot only three minutes?” My stomach is touching my back and I was so thirsty. So SAY LESS.
Mind y’all I had Pizza Hurt earlier this week, and it was so much room left to be desired. But this isn’t about them folks.
These guys who work this place were so pleasant, and the guy who was in the front who made my pizza was informative and helpful and speedy lol. He was very thoughtful too if I had dietary restrictions or not. Multitasking, he made seem like a lost art form also lol. Not to mention the manager guy in the back he was incredibly nice and we shared similar interest which gave the atmosphere an automatic cool vibe.
We’re talking it up and BAM in like 5 minutes I get this entire pizza straight from the fire oven. He did like the lil pizza rotation to cook each side. I was shocked on how fast it came out.
Anyways, I got a wine cocktail from the cooler called Frenchie, it’s bitter cause it’s a cocktail with flowers and fruits in it, but I definitely felt a little buzz buzz when I drank it when I got home later on 🫣. Don’t tell nobody.
So the price, I only pay $21 (excluding tip) on a seltzer water, regular water and this wine cooler plus a pizza from the lunch special (ends at 3 y’all) which I think is nice cause I paid $27 at PH for similar meal items and only one drink lol.
But let me get into this pizza. I hope y’all see that video, because listen. When I tell you the perfect grease, the perfect scent, the crust was fluffy, airy and crisp and it’s not a lot of pizza spots where you can see the pizza being made in front of you too. I think that’s cool. I do want to note though, when pizzas are cooked in this method, you gone get a lil burnt spot so don’t go in there crying about it and enjoy it. It’s worth it lol. Eat around it like I did.
The sauce was rich, the cheese wasn’t rubbery, the little teenie weenie pepperonis were nice and cooked to where it was crispy but not burnt but not too soft to where it’s all disintegrating and check this: the sausage is made fresh by the owner dude like in the morning. SO INTIMATE lol. AND I finished half the pizza on my 30 minute commute to my apartment, 😭.
I would totally recommend this to my peoples especially during lunch because the price was nice for me and the atmosphere is super cool. They have little tables in the front where you can sit and watch the people of...
Read moreSo. Citizen Pie. What can I really say about this place? It's a very small and cozy little pizza joint. You can see the staff making pizzas all the way through the process and can even see inside the oven to watch your pie bubble up as it makes its way to your table. There's less than 30 chairs in the place, so don't expect a big place when you show up :)
It takes about 90 seconds to bake, but a few minutes to assemble -- overall a very quick experience if there's not much of a line.
The crust is the perfect thin and crispy chewy textured kind of thing that you expect from a wood fired oven. The toppings seem fresh and are very tasty. I got a Margherita and watched as the guy making it pulled basil leaves off a bundle of fresh basil, Lisa got the Spanish pie with Manchego and Chorizo and it was also brilliant. At around 11-12" apiece, they're a little big for a personal pizza (unless you believe in yourself) and a little small to be shared. I'd say get one each and either show up hungry or plan to save a slice or 2 for breakfast.
This morning I had a piece from the pepperoni pie I took home cold for breakfast and that was pretty great too :)
5 stars, a bunch of thumbs up, and a hearty recommendation to try it...
Read moreGet there! Stop comparing reviews and just get there right now.... I guarantee you will not be disappointed. Me, working in town for the day. I keep thinking how can I get this pizza to my friends at home..... On top of the instant friendly vibe from a couple of chill guys in a pizza shop..... I ordered mine to go. Only when I got back to my job site that I realized how amazing this damn pizza was and only when I finish the first slice and got to the crust, the outer edge that I realize how amazing the actual pizza dough...... which I wouldn't even call dough it's more like fresh baked bread was! I'll find reasons to be back in this area to get another pie. Great job guys. You ruined my local pizza...
