As a connoisseur of the coffee craft, my exploration led me to Six Shooter Coffee, procured from a local grocer. The initial impressions were promising, yet several critical points left me underwhelmed.
Freshness, a fundamental factor in coffee quality, seemed jeopardized due to the unsealed bag. While the coffee appeared initially fresh, the lack of a proper seal foretold a rapid decline in its quality. This omission could significantly impact the beans' lifespan and ultimately compromise the taste experience.
The coffee itself, though possessing potential, was marred by an excess of added flavors. While nuanced accents can enhance a brew, Six Shooter's approach seemed to overshadow the inherent qualities of the bean. The balance leaned too heavily towards the additional flavors, detracting from the coffee's natural essence.
Pricing became a point of contention. Considering the emphasis on added flavors, the higher price seemed unjustified. For a product that strays from highlighting the raw bean itself, the cost felt disproportionate.
Moreover, the looming best-before date, months away, contradicted the unsealed packaging. This disparity became a significant deal-breaker. The combination of an unsealed bag and a distant best-before date raises concerns about the integrity of the product's longevity and subsequent taste deterioration.
In essence, Six Shooter Coffee's potential brilliance gets clouded by significant drawbacks. The unsealed packaging, excessive reliance on added flavors, higher pricing for a flavored product, and the contradiction in best-before dating collectively hinder what could have been an enjoyable coffee experience. For now, it falls short...
Read moreThis is my favorite coffee spot in Cleveland. I am a bit of a snob because I lived a long time in both NY/LA (sorry in advance) so it's still not quite on that level in terms of espresso drinks, but for Cleveland I would say it's the best, after plenty of trial and error! They also always have a variety of pastries, and they always have pastries well into the afternoon which is hugely appreciated as someone who wakes up late! I loathe going to coffee shops that are out of pastries by 11am, so thank you Six Shooter!
The staff is so friendly and welcoming and stylish too, I love hanging out there. It's always relaxed. A good neighborhood spot too if you want to meet people, it's cozy enough to chat. Going here is a bright spot in my day.
If Six Shooter wanted to put out the money to train their baristas for a few weeks in NY, LA or even Portland has an incredible coffee scene, I think they could really level up. I only say this because occasionally the espresso drinks are either burned, watery or grainy. So it's just tightening up that pull, and consistency with the machine maintenance I think. But again I'm a snob!...
Read moreOnce again I was looking for a place with good coffee where I could work for a few hours while i was in town visiting family and this place came up in my search. I was really excited as the photos looked adorable and the reviews were all glowing. I arrived to find it placed in an adorable arts district so I just knew I'd get me a good coffee with some good service. Well one part was true. I went in being new and knowing nothing about what they roast and asked a few questions. I felt like i was inconveniencing the young lady at the counter but there was no one else in the place. So i politely ordered a pour over after what felt like pulling teeth to get a recommendation and found a seat near the window. There are outlets everywhere so it was easy to find a place and set up. The wifi password is not widely known so I had to wait until my coffee was brought to me to ask for it. Connection was pretty solid so I worked for about an hour while enjoying my items then left. I think i'll keep on my search for the perfect coffee...
