Really glad I came here today. This is the best breakfast I had in a while. I splurged, and I don’t regret it. I ordered the Mediterranean Omelette off the breakfast specials menu. This thing is loaded with spinach, olives, and especially feta cheese, which is bursting out when i cut into it. Delightful. The potatoes are extra crispy on top, which frankly I think is the right way to do it. I don’t think there were any spices on them, with salt and pepper on the table, and hot sauce dropped off with the meal. The coffee was good and not too strong. I haven’t found the bottom of my cup, and anytime I desired service, it was there before I knew it. Thank you. The music isn’t too loud, which is such a common problem at other places; thank you for not overstimulating me. The building is quaint and classic, comfortable and not flashy. I didn’t even put on my headphones here. There are plants above the dividers, and hanging by the window; I think they are all real and living. What an invitation this is to bring my own life in. I went on a weekday around noon. I was able to park right next to the door. They have parking on both sides of the restaurant, with doors on both sides. They’re a convenient short drive from the 490, and situated on a corner with entry from both cross streets. I can see the bus stop across the street too. The prices were very fair. My whole meal with tax and a great tip is gonna be less than just the meal at many other places. Easy to justify returning. One of life’s great pleasures is finding a diner off the highway that obviously cares about making its guests feel at home. Heartily, bravo.

I would have gave it a three and a half Stars because of simple fact is the soup and the service the waitress was constantly on me when I first got in asking me what I want if I'm ready I just sat down I haven't even made my coffee and she kept on constantly every 3 seconds asked me am I ready I did not like that at all but otherwise I love the place the coffee was great I gotten the Brooklyn Burger the half pound one it was $8.99 the bowl of soup was horrible I gotten the chicken noodle soup and it should be renamed just noodle soup because that's all it came in that soup and for $2.99 it is not worth it whatsoever but I do encourage anybody to go there because they do have good food and burger was freaking phenomenal I enjoyed it so much and I love the coffee...

Steve’s was diner was my fav mom’s and pops place. But I been here a few times ever since Steve’s closed and this is my new favorite spot ! The food is delicious, they are kid friendly and even give out crayons and coloring pages which is so nice for kids to relax and color. The kids menu is nice and the kids meals are huge ! Breakfast is amazing. Larger portions. My new favorite spot. I will be taking my family here. Love Gabe’s and the employees are amazing and friendly !

Normally I have a great time when I'm here. But this time was a little different me my husband and my daughter went out to eat. Everything was good atmosphere was good service was okay until our food came out and it had a very long distinctive hair on top of my entire plate everybody else's food was fine but mine had a giant hair on it I tried to stop to waitresses which completely ignored me and just walked away I had to walk my own plate up to the front counter and hand it to the manager the manager just looked at me and was mildly rude when I asked them to replace it they said okay and then the waitress came by to tell me that she doesn't know where that hair could have come from no one has long hair looking around the room and assessing the situation I can see at least four people who work here with long hair who are in and out of that kitchen picking up food and taking it out to the tables it threw me back a little it was almost as if they were blaming me for the long hair on my own plate I hadn't even had my plate for 30 seconds before I noticed it since it was long and directly on top of all of my food and my eggs after I felt disrespected about asking me about the long hair I told them to just take it back and to take it off the bill and that we would pay for the rest of our food the waitress told me that she couldn't take it off my bill as it was already being remade after it had already been 20 minutes and everybody else at my table had already finished eating I had to get another waitress to take it off my bill was one of the worst experiences I've had here especially after we loved it and it's directly down the street...

Simply put, the food is great, the service is great and the prices are even better. I've never had a bad experience here.

**EDITED. I initially gave this place 5 stars but after my last two visits, I have to change my review. The last two times I've been to Gabe's, I had awful experiences but I'm going to focus in the last. The place was crowded, so we expected to wait. However, there was a group that was seated at the same time as us, in the same area, with the same server. They had already eaten and left and we were still waiting for our food. (Our party had 1 less person than theirs). When the food finally came, they messed up an order. We ordered pancakes (which we have before and unless you ask for something special, they are plain). Our son was given pancakes with pecans in them. The pecans were only visible on the bottom of the pancake so he didn't see them. Well he has a tree nut allergy and even though he realized something was in them and only took one bite. he broke out in hives. The server gave us a $10 credit!!!! We used visit this place regularly for years, but we will not return. For anyone who may be led to think we received this service because we were regulars who did not tip, don't think that's the case. I used to be a server so I understand the business and always tip between 15-25% depending on the service I receive.

I called the restaurant afterwards. The owner was very apologetic and did offer to make amends the next...
