I can't rate the food because I never got to eat it.
Wen To the Cleveland /Old Brooklyn store on 4/3/24. Was going to goto DQ but wanted a private local place. We were visiting for a couple nights. Last night here we decided to get some sundaes. Ordered a total of 6 sundaes . $33.00 plus 5.00 tip.(wish I never left it honestly) We decided to get the Ice Cream to go . Received our order and drove away. Got home and opened our bag. Out of 6 sundaes 4 of them were wrong . I immediately called the store and was told it is too close to 9 and I would have to come back tomorrow or another day. (Did I mention just passing through and last night in town?) I explained to her that I would be gone in the morning and I could not do that. I asked if the store in Parma was the same owner. YES it is. "But they closed at 8:30 they won't be able to help" . I asked if she could call them and tell them I was coming . She did (not sure what was said) . I get to the closer store to my BNB (only went to Old Brooklyn because Parma store web site Saif they were only open Friday to Monday .)when I arrive at the store ( SURPRISE! they were locked up.) I knocked on the door and who I assume is a manager of some kind came and asked if he could help. (You need to know that I explained to him that I knew he was closed and cleaned up and thus was not his fault) Confirmed the other store did call. I was told by him that he could do anything. I just said give me the owner or store manager phone number and name. He said ok ,locked the door and walked into the back room . I assumed he was getting a number for me . WRONG!!!! ,He came out and started washing tables . I knocked on thw glass again and asked if he had the owner #and he just shrugged his shoulders and acted as if I didn't ask for the number. Totally just played me off as a joke.
To me this is terrible service and anyone who is not willing to perform the job that they obviously applied for and got hired for should be there and the owners need to remove staff. So now the mission of finding the owner Brian and let him know that he needs to retrain his people.
NEVER AGAIN ..... locals may love it but they obviously do not care about the out of towners. I really hope this reaches enough people that the $40.00 that I am never going to see again is lost in sales ASAP but also doubles or triples the loss for them .Because I am sure that $40.00 to them is alot different than $40.00 os to a single father just trying to give his children a treat . ENJOY THE 40 BUCKS
Oh and we went to Dairy queen like we originally planned and their manager heard the story and couldn't...
Read moreJuly 2021: This place is highly recommended by many people. Even President Joe Biden, visited the Honey Hut to sample their famous ice cream. I ordered the honey pecan malt and was satisfied. Overall, this place lives up to the hype 👍🏽👍🏽
Pros: Clean shop, spacious area for the staff to move without bumping into each other. Fame. Many people know about this place already. Super cool logo and bee mascot. If you like chocolate flavored ice cream, then is the best place to get it...hands down like 6:30. They have a wide variety of chocolate (even some coffee, a cayenne chocolate, etc.) flavors to choose from. Delicious hand scooped ice cream.
Cons: It is always busy so be prepared to wait. Sometimes you have to wait for good things. Parking can be an issue during peak times. Flavors switch up regularly. The batch of premium flavors may not last long and will be replaced by another premium flavor. This is a good/bad thing because they have some really unique flavors.
Late August 2021: I've visited Honey Hut a few times now. I've found that it is not as busy if I go around 1 - 1:30pm. The Orange Blossom and Blueberry Crumble flavors are very good. The Honey Pecan is good, but the sweet ice cream and slightly salty pecans throw me off a bit. One thing that impressed me was that they squeegee'd their picnic tables after a morning rain storm so that I had dry place to sit and enjoy. I have changed my rating from 4/5 to 5/5 stars.
March 2022: The Land (Cleveland) had a warm day (upper 60s degF during sunup) and everyone and their brother was out there. My favorite flavors from them are the Orange Blossom and the Honey Graham. I will say that the Honey Hut does not skimp out on the nuts in their Honey pecan and pistachio flavored ice creams. They will probably remain a 5/5 ⭐️ for the...
