This was a 5 star review before I even got my food. My family and I were on a road trip through this wonderful state, and were staying a night nearby here. We decided on the drive up that getting pizza and bringing it back to the room would be our dinner. We looked at a few places on the map and took a chance on Joe De's and we're not disappointed. To start, we showed up a half hour before close with a family order and the whole crew was warm and friendly from the moment I walked in to order. After I placed my order, I told the guy I was going to wait in my car with my family, but I'd be back in when it's done to pick it up. He told me to just wait in the car and HE would walk it out once it was done. I'm already liking this place. Then, a few minutes later, another guy came out with a bag and handed it to me, he said "heard you were staying in a hotel around here, I brought you some plates, forks and napkins for the room..." That was above and beyond. Then we received our food, right when he said we would. In my mind the service had already earned a 5 star review, then we ate the food and it was solidified, this is a 5 star place. The pizza was excellent, great dough, just the right amount of sauce, cheese and toppings; not a lot of stuff falling off. Delicious desserts. As a bonus, there is a small sports bar next door and you can take your food there(or order it there I assume) so if you're in the mood for a few drinks and some sports with your pie, you'll have even more to enjoy. Thank you Joe De and crew for...

Flew in from out of town and was going to meet up with the other 2 members of my team for a bite to eat. We all had flown in that day and wasn't sure what we wanted. 1 ended up having to take care of some other things, so us other 2 decided we'd meet up and decided on pizza. We googled the area and found Joe De's Brick Oven Pizza. The pictures made the food look good.

It's a very small place more setup for take out rather than dine-in. There is a nice little (maybe fake or gas) fireplace and a TV above it right when you walk in. The fella (I do believe the owner) is very friendly. Seems like a buddy or next door neighbor. You have to get individual drinks versus have fountain drinks or anything of the sort. We ended up getting a medium deluxe pizza and subbed the black olives for jalapeños and hot wings.

The pizza size seemed really small....especially for the price, but it with the wings was enough for us. The brick oven gives the pizza a good flavor, much less the fresh ingredients that they use. Would have been good to have a bit more cheese or a little bit on top to help hold the toppings in place a little better, but still a good quality pizza. The wings had a good meatiness and size. The overall doneness and flavor was well. The hot...for non-spice people they would probably think they were hot, but they truly were more of a medium at best.

I'd get it again. Additionally, they offer a...

I went there purely on yelp reviews. Not only did they have a real margharita pizza from their brick oven. Good pizza! This is a generational pizza place although this location is relatively new, the company has been around for decades and decades in Cleveland. Support this local pizzeria place as they are good people. I had the awesome opportunity to speak with the owner and he has great pride in keeping the family business going. This brick oven is the real deal from Italy built in place. And they know how to operate it to bake the perfect pie. I whole heartedly endorse this restaurant. The service is awesome and I witnessed the owner really taking care of three different longtime customers in the time I was there. Since I was having a long conversation about the art of pizza making every customer that came in raved about how good the pizza was there. If you want a super authentic margharita ask them they will make it. If you like your crust to be very crunchy in the middle ask for a thin margarita. They will be glad to accommodate. I will be back over and over. One more thing... probably the CLEANEST restaurant I have been to in a...

Joe De's opened up this weekend, so I tried it out today since it's right around the corner from me (old Upper Crust location on Puritas). "Disappointed" is the word I'll use to describe the experience. First of all, I don't consider a 14-inch pizza to be large. The crust and sauce were OK, but the toppings were skimpy. The garlic bread was bland and not worth the $5.50 it cost. They didn't even toss the wings in the sauce, the sauce came separately in containers. Once I tossed them, the wings were decent but not worth the price (15 wings for $20). These three items came to $40.50 and they definitely weren't worth the price. I don't see how this place will be able to compete in this area charging premium prices for average food. There are too many places that are way better.

I came to Ohio for a quick weekend and I was headed back to the airport when I came across this neighborhood gem! I love authentic local places and Joe De’s did not disappoint. The brick oven pizza (and bread) was AMAZING! I sat inside to eat and watch the Browns game as I was waiting quite awhile for my delayed flight. Bshair, Momma and the family were so friendly!😊. I stayed long enough to observe their warm welcome as they greeted each customer on the phone and in person. There is clearly a reason that this local pizza place has stayed in business over 40 years. Thank you for the kindness and the stuffed belly from this out-of-town guest. They treated me like family! This type of business is sacred. Support local!
