MexiTaco Kitchen — Restaurant in Cleveland

Mexitaco is housed inside the Carnegie Food Hub.

There is ample parking on the west side of the building. You can either order from the kiosks or make your order online on their website. Once again, this place is completely cashless. After you place your order, you will receive a text message confirming your order and an estimated wait time to receive your food. Once your food is ready, you will receive a text message telling you which locker your food is in. Once you are in front of the lockers on site, you click the link in your text message and the door to your locker pops open! So cool!

Today, I ordered my food in the lobby and just sat and waited on the bench for about 15 minutes while my food was being prepared. Next time, I’ll be ordering online to save some time!

Mexitaco

QUESABIRRIA TACOS - the meat inside the taco was delicious but I did not care for the tortilla or the overall flavor. Blue Habanero still has my favorite Quesabirria tacos here in CleveIand. With that said, I would like to give Mexitaco another try and order something different.

By far the worst Mexican food I've ever had. I got chips and queso and a steak fajita order. The queso was literally the same bright yellow nacho cheese you get putnofna bag at high-school football games. The chips were very crunch, pita chip like, but lacked salt. I had one chip that was absolutely coated but the rest didn't have any.

The steak for the fajitas was pale and chewy and resembled boiled meat. There was no seasoning on the steak and the entire tray came in about a quarter inch of grey "juices" sitting at the bottom. There was an abundance of boiled mushrooms and onions but over all the steak was lacking. The rice had a good overall color and texture but lacked seasoning as well. The Pino beans were well cooked but they were also very soup like, unsure if it was from the beans themselves or that grey meat juice I mentioned earlier.

Terrible experience from start to finish. Placed (very overpriced) order online. Took more than two hours to receive. Delivery driver could not get response from anyone about where our food was, and advised me to call restaurant. I did, repeatedly. No one answers. Delivery driver finally able to get food, clearly very stressed by trying to deal with restaurant. Lids were not on food properly, so most of the food was spilled out into the plastic bags that look like they came from Walmart. The tiny bit of food that was left in takeout container was ice cold and congealed, completely inedible. Tried to call several more times, to no avail. Paid a ridiculous amount, and now even more ravenous than when I placed order. Steer clear...
