BEWARE impossible to cancel a membership. I have called, emailed and visited in person repeatedly over the last 6 months and they continue to charge my credit card for a membership I cancelled in January. Had to cancel my credit card after no resolution.
ALSO this gym has NO AC and UNHEATED LOCKER ROOMS in the winter. I have literally had strangers threaten to puke next to me while working out at this gym because it was so hot.
Take your money to reputable business that will properly cancel your membership when asked.
Edit to respond to owner's response: "One actual phone call would have solved this! " - I have called you repeatedly and spoken to you directly on the phone. You had the ability to cancel my membership then and there and instead directed me to come in person to fill out a form
"Cancellation forms are at the front desk, at all times. Right under the waivers." - They were not at the front desk on January 23rd when I came in person to cancel my membership. Nor was any staff from the gym present to assist me in finding the forms that are purportedly always available. However I did ask every person in the gym for help and none had any idea where these forms were located. I also left a voicemail on 1/23/25 explaining that I was unable to find the form that was needed and never received any response. I also sent multiple emails to the gym outlining my issues in writing and asking for assistance. When I spoke to you on the phone you told me you do not check your email. I gave you ample to time and opportunities to resolve this issue before taking it public and am happy to share receipts with any gym-goers who need...
Read morePositives: Nice squat racks. Good deadlift platforms. Good selection of quality barbells that are color coded for the lifting application, e.g., deadlift vs Olympic lift. The patrons there are nice and accepting. People who go there are serious about getting their lift on, but without the meathead vibe. No gym bunnies trying to be social influencers. The fellow lifters there might very well be the strongest positive.
Negatives: Sometimes it becomes an Easter egg hunt to find a plate you need due to insufficient quantities. Not enough bumper plates in anything other than 45 pounds. The Olympic lifting area gets cluttered with miscellaneous gear such as hex "deadlift" bars. The locker room is substandard. The electric hand dryer is anemic as best and does not sufficiently dry your hands after washing them. No paper towels are available for drying.
Overall: If you're dedicated/serious about lifting, this is a very good choice. I've been to other gyms in the Cleveland area, and they come up short...
Read moreI am at a last resort before I have to cancel my card and get a new one. I have been trying to cancel my membership for months now and have been unable to get in contact with anyone via phone or email. I have moved out of the area so coming in person is not an option and I never knew of any cancelation forms at the front desk when I was going to gym. It’s odd because when I first signed up with the gym, I was able to get them on the phone.
I moved in January and have called the 440 number on the website/google and left voicemails. I also tried the 216 number in the google review comments. I also have emailed them multiple times via the email address on the website and have gotten no response. It is a shame because although I couldn’t come as often as I would have liked due to life circumstances, I liked the gym and the owner was nice when I met him and I was happy to support him and his business. So I am shocked and...
