Monterrey Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Cleveland

First, I just want to share that this review has nothing to do with the cooks nor the food. The is the best in Cleveland and my favorite since I was a kid.

However, it has been one particular server that has made our decision to not return. I do not have a name but his description is a white male with long brown dirty blonde hair. Two separate times we've had terrible service from this individual. Our first experience was as follows.

My girlfriend ordered the shredded chicken nachos and asked for the corn tortilla chips instead of the flour. Our server responded that the main cook was was in a bad mood and that wasn't possible to make this change. And kept saying that the cook was angry. We later had the change made and went on and left before finishing our food. We took the food home and left a tip.

Our second experience was with the same server. Three of us got sprites and upon receiving them, we noticed that they all had tiny black specs that looked like mold in the cup and on the ice. We asked a different server if we could get different drinks from a different machine and they were more than happy to help us.

Our actual sever came back and told us that a tea bag busted into the ice machine and that was what the black specs were. We then said," it's not going to kill you. You'll be okay."

We still politely asked for different drinks, but it's as if there was an insistence for us to keep our drinks and borderline refusing to get us new drinks. We finally got new drinks and went on about our dinner and Left a...

Title: A Spicy Disaster at Monterrey Mexican Restaurant

My recent visit to Monterrey Mexican Restaurant was nothing short of a culinary nightmare. I was excited to try their lemon pepper wings, but what I received was a plate of wings so salty they were almost inedible. The only way to choke them down was to drench them in ranch dressing.

The mishaps didn't stop there. We specifically asked for mild wings, but were instead served wings that were so insanely spicy they brought tears to my eyes. The heat was unbearable and completely ruined the meal.

The service was equally disappointing. We ordered fries, but were served rice instead. By the time the fries finally arrived, our meal was almost over. Furthermore, they brought no ketchup for the fries.

To top it all off, the first Screwdriver drink I ordered was so watered down it tasted like orange juice mixed with water. There was hardly any alcohol in it, making it a complete waste of money.

To bring attention to the last disaster, the table we were placed in was so wobbly that a drink spilled and caused a loud disturbance to bring attention to our table. Disaster!

Overall, my experience at Monterrey Mexican Restaurant was a "never going there again," experience. From the overly salty and spicy wings to the poor service and watered-down drinks, this visit was a complete letdown. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a satisfying meal.

Starting off not liking sanitation. The same guy that just handled money, bussing tables, brought my chips salsa and napkin wrapped silver ware. No automatic straw delivered with sweet tea. No napkins on the table. I like to use my silverware napkin but I don't want to leave my "naked silverware" on the bare table, when my initial interaction showed lack of concern for sanitation. Well the lady saw my cheese on the table and brought me extras without me asking, kewl. Menu How do u spell with not whit (unprofessional menu spelling) Damn stars have to go up bc the salad I GOT was emaculantly superb. My sweet tea came with a glorious lemon, I freekin dropped on the table. So the salad in a shell was so good I had to eat the bottom out. Lol. It tasted as good a chicken pot pie crust really good. My flaws :I was not ready to get my order underway swiftly. Lady waited patiently though. I spilled my cheese dip needing extra napkins Oops I failed to mix the bowl to get all the rice n cheese goodies at the bottom.
