Restaurant Review: A Hidden Gem of Yemeni Cuisine on Memphis Ave ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you're on the hunt for an extraordinary dining experience in Cleveland, look no further than this new Yemeni spot on Memphis Ave. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a young server whose curiosity, politeness, and professionalism set the tone for an unforgettable meal. It was truly a family affair, and it was delightful to watch the family working together, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. We decided to try the mix plate for two, and it was nothing short of exceptional. Each dish was a delightful journey through robust flavor profiles that danced on our palates with every bite. The lamb was tender and perfectly seasoned, showcasing the rich culinary traditions of Yemen. To complement our meal, we ordered the lamb soup, which was a warm embrace in a bowl. It was rich and hearty, with layers of flavor that left us wanting more. And let’s not forget the coffee—oh, the coffee! It was anything but watery; instead, it was a bold and aromatic brew that perfectly rounded out our meal. Every aspect of our dining experience was thoughtfully curated, from the attentive service to the incredible food. Watching the family work together added a special touch to the experience, making it feel like we were part of something truly special. This restaurant is a true testament to the vibrant flavors of Yemeni cuisine, and I can confidently say it’s one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. Read moreOver the course of a few orders and experiences with Reef Al Yemen (via Uber Eats), I’ve had the pleasure of trying some absolutely incredible dishes, each one a standout in its own way.
On one occasion, I ordered the Lamb Mandi, and it was fantastic. The meat was perfectly cooked—tender, flavorful, and paired with just the right spices to make the dish truly special.
Another time, I went for the Lamb Haneeth, and it was equally impressive. The meat was melt-in-your-mouth tender, with bold, well-balanced flavors that showed the care put into its preparation.
During another order, I tried the Turkish Haneeth and Marag. The Turkish Haneeth was phenomenal—perfectly cooked, rich, and aromatic. The Marag complemented it beautifully with its comforting, hearty flavors.
Their Adeni tea is also worth mentioning—it’s smooth, fragrant, and absolutely delightful. It added a wonderful touch to the meal and is a must-try for tea enthusiasts.
To top it all off, I ended one of my orders with the Akeeka dessert. Light, sweet, and satisfying, it was the perfect conclusion to an unforgettable dining experience.
Not only is the food exceptional, but the staff at Reef Al Yemen are incredibly caring and friendly. They go out of their way to ensure you have the best experience, and their dedication truly shines through.

Read moreMy husband and I have been regulars at Reef Al Yemen for a couple of months. We’ve had mostly pleasant experiences but have started to notice the owners terrible treatment towards the young American lady that works there. We typically go late in the evening and a couple of times she has been the only waitress working, running around handling multiple things at once, and even when she is in the middle of doing things, he always seems to yell for her. She does an amazing job, and is even attempting to learn Arabic, yet the owner always seems to be overly demanding towards her. He will be standing there doing nothing, and she will be in the middle of doing something yet he will still call for her and have her drop what she’s doing to come do whatever he needs. I feel bad for her and it’s also just a very bad look for him. Also, our last time eating there, the table in front of us had discovered a cockroach. It was crawling across the floor, and as they were staring at it, the owner just simply came over and stepped on it. I completely lost my appetite after seeing that. The couple ended up, leaving halfway through their meal not even finishing everything. My husband ease-dropped as they were paying and they weren’t even offered any sort of discount and the owner just seemed super casual about the situation. I am truly disappointed because I had enjoyed eating at this restaurant and love supporting local businesses. But I cannot support unjust treatment of employees and...
