This is the BEST corned beef in the country. I will say that one more time. This is the BEST corned beef in the country. I grew up in the Detroit suburbs with many good Jewish delis. We have nothing this good. I have been to New York over 30 times. Always liked the Carnegie more than Star or Katz's (so friggin overrated) but Slymans puts them all to shame. LA's corned beef is nothing special. I live in FL and we have a couple of Jewish people down here and a few delis....and I have flown to Cleveland 3 times (so far)[UPDATE: 6 times] ONLY to go to Slyman's. Have also made detours from Indy, Buffalo, and Cinci to stop by. One trip I had to go to Detroit so I instead flew into Cleveland, rented a car, swung by Slymans for 5lbs. of corned beef, and then drove the 3 hours to Detroit. Would have visited even more but a few times I was close it was a weekend and they are not open! I dream of this corned beef. I dont want you to know how good it is. I dont want you going there because they do run out - but I cant keep it quiet. Cleveland, Ohio has the best corned beef I have ever eaten. Bless you Slyman's!!

I’ll just say that if this restaurant had one redeeming quality I would put it in here, but I can’t find a single one. When we walk in the door there is a young boy at the host stand and his only greeting is the word “three”. He then grabs menus and walks off so fast to a table we didn’t even see where he went at first. Leaves the menus on the table and is walking back before we even get to the table without so much as a word. Incredibly rude. I ordered the corned beef sandwich, which for all the hype was just ok, kind of dry. Not worth the price, for sure. My wife orders fish and chips, and the fries come out chewy and cold and the fish was cheap frozen stuff. My son ordered a chicken sandwich, as you can tell by the pictures, it came out black. I said something about the chicken, and they said “it’s always like that” they did replace the fries with another batch of gross fries. The waitress was nice and fairly attentive. The place is outrageously overpriced for garbage food. I’ve had their sandwich at the Cleveland location and this is nothing like it.

I FINALLY visited the famous Slymans and I was not disappointed!!!! OMG talk about the best EVER Deli sandwiches I've ever eaten. Pictured is the pastrami melt and it was beyond incredible. I've never eaten such flavorful pastrami in my life. Of course it was piled HIGH on delicious rye bread and the most savory melted Swiss cheese. I also got the pastrami Reuben and the corned beef Reuben to bring back to my hometown. The sandwiches traveled well and the air fryer made them taste just like they were fresh made. Every detail was perfect from the meat to the kraut to the amazing thousand Island dressing they packed on the side for me. Not only do I recommend Slymans, I would travel again to Cleveland JUST FOR THEM!!!!! One million out of 10. A true culinary gem . 💎

ABSOLUTELY BEST PLACE TO EAT IN CLEVELAND! From the amazing customer service by "Mom" to the entire staff being friendly. The corned beef is cooked to perfection and the bread compliments in perfectly. I am visting the city due to my wife having a major surjery. Me and mom started chatting and she hands me my bill and says "Lunch is on me" 😀 she refused to allow me to pay for it and then told me she would be praying for my wife. This woman has a heart of gold and deserves every blessing that is ever bestowed upon her. The sons really got the sandwich game fown to a T. So quick recap: amazing people, amazing service, and absolutely amazing food. Thank you to the real SLYMANS dont be tricked by the one in Independence with the name it is 2 different places

Found Slyman’s while searching for lunch while passing through the Cleveland area. Wow! Jackpot! Slyman’s is awesome! Literally the biggest, best, tastiest, corned beef sandwich we’ve ever had! We got the Ruben. Huge and delicious! When entering the establishment we were greeted by a wonderful lady who took our order. I interacted with The gentlemen behind the counter. They were all upbeat, smiling and very polite, friendly, and appreciative of us coming in for the first time. The sandwiches were served quickly and were hot and fresh. Did I say huge! The place had a constant flow of people ordering in and out. Everyone was very friendly. The restaurant was clean and neat. 100% will make a special trip back! Thank you Slyman’s!

A wish list stop, finally had the opportunity to go. Arrived about 11:30, had no problem placing orders, finding a seat and shortly served lunch. I HAD to have pastrami on rye with Swiss cheese, Mrs.Turtle had turkey club and fries, both came with pickle, had 2 diet cola's to drink. Meals were as we heard described, HUGH sandwiches and tasty. Pastrami was deeeeelish and Mrs.Turtle thought her turkey sammi was good as well. 1 note of caution. The sandwiches are huge and tasty however, the cost sorta took my breath away. Maybe it's just me but view pictures and you decide. 2 sandwiches, small fry and 2 cokes = $43.00 + gratuity. Can now say "been there, done that". Fixed income doesn't promote eating here often.
