Taco Laguna is a breath of fresh air in Cleveland’s crowded Mexican restaurant scene. From the moment I walked through the door, I was greeted by an atmosphere that felt warm, welcoming, and refreshingly authentic. The staff at Taco Laguna deserve the highest praise... not just for their attentiveness but for the genuine smiles they wore throughout my visit. Their enthusiasm for their work and their customers is palpable, creating an ambiance that feels more like dining with family than merely grabbing a bite to eat.

The menu is reasonably priced, offering good value without sacrificing quality. I tried the torta, which was absolutely delicious. The flavors were vibrant, the ingredients fresh, and the portion generous. However, as a self-proclaimed torta enthusiast, I do have one small critique: the bun. A truly exceptional torta often features a buttery, grilled bun with that irresistible crunch of caramelized bread in every bite. This touch would elevate the dish from great to unforgettable and show that the cook has mastered the finer points of this Mexican classic.

The absence of fountain drinks was another minor inconvenience. While the novelty of bottled beverages (including sweet tea) might appeal to some, it lacks the practicality and value of unlimited refills, which are always appreciated during a long meal or a hot day. For a restaurant with such a welcoming atmosphere, having fountain drinks would be a natural enhancement to the dining experience.

One other small note: the music. While some diners might enjoy the lively volume, I found it a bit loud for my taste. It didn’t ruin the experience, but a slight adjustment might make conversations more comfortable without losing the upbeat vibe.

What truly sets Taco Laguna apart, though, is its mom-and-pop charm. It doesn’t feel like a formulaic chain trying to pass itself off as Mexican. Instead, it exudes a genuine, personal touch that’s rare to find these days. This is a restaurant with heart, and that heart shines through in the food, the service, and the atmosphere.

Rating: ★★★★★ (5/5) While there’s always room for improvement, Taco Laguna has so much going for it that I can’t help but give it a perfect score. With a few small tweaks—grilled buns for their tortas and the addition of fountain drinks—they could easily cement themselves as a standout favorite in Cleveland.

First impressions matter, and Taco Laguna made an incredible one. Keep up the good work, and I look forward to seeing how you continue to grow and refine your already...

This place is a MUST! try for any local or anyone just driving by! (That’s how I found it.)

What a delightful find! I know why their ratings are so good! Y’all this little restaurant is completely wonderful. It’s been a long time since I’ve had genuinely Hispanic recipes and not cookie-cutter-American-Mexican food that every other place serves.

I knew it was going to be good when I walked in and saw fútbol on the tv and 90% of the patrons were Hispanic. The menu was very unique and had items I’ve not seen before. What I appreciated most is that most of the items were served on corn! not flour. Since I have celiac this was a delightful surprise. I tried my very first carnitas Sopes and was even able to eat a chorizo quesadilla. The flavors were rich and unique. Nothing at all like American “Mexican” food.

My server was a darling young lady who was a complete joy to talk to. Very kind and attentive. She talked to me about the origins of the owners and also about the chefs being able to bring recipes from their homeland in Mexico.

The restaurant is tucked away in an industrial area of this little town. It sits at the point of several roads that are all one-way around it. Do mind the traffic signs so you know which way you’re...

Cute and cozy place. Food was good, but my favorite was the street corn appetizer (pictured). OH MY!!! I got 1/2 original and 1/2 lemon pepper seasoning, both were fantastic but the lemon pepper was my favorite.

We weren't too hungry so my wife and I got a couple of tacos. She got the bierra and I got 1 shrimp and 1 steak. It was good, I would like to try something different next time around. Their menu is very interesting and unique. At least from any other Mexican restaurant I've eaten at.

Friendly and quick service, super clean. Oh, there is a QR code on the bill that you can click and pay with your phone. It's the little thing that amuses me!

Come...
