Signatures Soul & Sea — Restaurant in Clifton Heights

I hate that our people hype stuff up. First let me say the customer service was terrible. I walked in and got in line to order and a customer and staff (looked like the owner ) was having a full blown discussion about travel. This person never acknowledged me until another customer came in and asked me could they just move up and ask about their order. I explained to the customer that I hadn't even ordered yet to which the staff member overheard. She then turns around to ask the people in the kitchen that were clearly working have we been helped . The person said she doesn't know and then and only then did this staff member turn around and asked myself and another customer been helped. She then sent someone from the kitchen to take my order. Well after waiting I was told that they only had shrimp left. I drove 40 minutes to get there and waited for about 15 minutes before I could order but 👍. I ordered the shrimp dinner with mac and cheese and bourbon yams . So I'm thinking OK bourbon yams should be good I called them candied yams and the staff member corrected me. When I tasted the food I was so disappointed. The yams taste like they came straight from out of the can and they just put sugar on them and the Mac and cheese was bland with litter also seasoning on it. Let me not forget the staff member offered another customer some biscuits for waiting and not myself and the other customer who came in to pick their order and waited while she had a discussion about beaches....

I’m not the type of person who does reviews but I have to in this case. I went to Signatures Soul and Sea this pass Saturday. They open at 3pm. I arrived at 3:20pm from Jersey. Line was already long. I’m thinking ok looking good 👍 food must be good to be packed right at opening. So I waited in an comfortable setting. I observed the dynamic of how the process of ordering to preparing to receiving your meal. I was told prior to ordering it will be an over an hour wait. After watching food being prepared fresh I had no problem waiting. I decided at that moment to order 4 meals for my grown family instead of one for myself. I left and came back since I’m familiar with the area. After an hour and a half my order was up next ( perfect timing). It was made fresh in front of me and wrapped well for the 40 minute ride home. Got home it was still warm enough to eat without reheating. It was a quiet meal because we were savory every bite. Portions was huge enough to eat twice. The Wifey was delicious 😋. My family ate well and enjoyed every bite. Fresh and flavorful crab cakes, golden succulent fried whiting and shrimp. My next weekend off I’ll be there at 2:30 so I’ll be first in line. Great...

I first heard about this place via an influencer, but everytime I would past by they were closed. Fast forward they put chairs outside and appeared to have consistent hours recently. I drove past and saw the chairs and had to pay them a visit. Inside there is seating to eat in and even enough space for a small crowd (10 and under) They have a lunch menu (11am-2p), rice bowls, vegan options and even a Saturday brunch menu 10am -2p. I chose a salmon "phillee" and my hubby had the "prawn sub" (fried shrimp on a hoagie roll). The salmon was good 3 out of 5. It's salmon, with green peppers, onions and cheese that taste like American cheese. The roll is toasted which was a plus as the roll is very soft. The portions are large. The salmon was full of flavor. It tasted better than it looked. I had a bite of my husband's prawn sub and that was a 5 out of 5. Large portions and great taste. Definitely would order that again. Definitely worth trying out for yourself. Both orders came with fries. I also ordered from the kids menu: chicken fingers and fries. Everything was hot.
