Lexington Diner — Restaurant in Clifton

If there was a NO star rating they will definetely earn it. After a long day driving from PA I decided to stop by this diner with my wife, 2 kids & my sister and husband. Service was ok. The food was HORRIBLE. I ordered a chicken gyro. The chicken was strips of some odd looking meet that tasted like freezer burned beef patties. It came with a salad which the dressing made my gyro so soggy that all the things in it fell off. My sister ordered the "NACHOS SUPREMOS" the chips were @ least 3 months old. They were stale. Just cheese and black beans all over the stale chips. This plate looked like some one just vomited beans & cheese all over it. My brother in law ordered fried chicken which might as well be called fried pigeon. The wings and legs were smaller than frog legs. I used to come to this diner with my parents for over 10 yrs. I guess the new management just does not have any kind of clue on how to find/ cook good quality food. Definetely will never come here again.

P.S The empty parking lot should've been a sign from the almighty God to not come into this...

I've been craving Pancakes for almost 2 weeks. This Sunday we decided to go out and visit a Diner. I haven't visited this location in over a year post Pandemic. We parked, walked up and thank God no waiting. The Diner was very busy and under staffed. Considering the obvious, we had a very pleasant breakfast. My Pancakes weren't steaming hot, more like a little over the warm state the butter still melted over them a little slow, but good enough. Scrambled eggs and sausages were fine. Everything was tasty. My spouse had an omelette with home fries and toast. No complaints there. Our waitress Val, or Valerie did a good job at keeping her composure under the stressed conditions. Every single staff member(s) were busy multitasking. They seem to work well together and everything was under control. I've been visiting this location for several yrs and we have always had a pleasant time. Hope this helps. The food and atmosphere is great. The gentleman who serves the drinks is the nicest worker there. Most of the waitresses are okay but there’s one who always seems to have attitude when she’s there. I thought at first she was just having a bad day but a few times of having her as a server I realize that’s how she is but it is quite uncomfortable. Also I don’t understand why a 15% tip is attempted to be taken automatically without notice. I asked for it to be taken off since I was giving a cash tip and it seemed the lady in front didn’t want to. Honestly this interaction made me a bit uncomfortable with this establishment. I should be able to give the tip I desire to give to the server in the form of payment I wish. It was just a bit absurd, especially since I was giving more tip than what was requested at the time of payment. I never had an experience like this at any other dinner. I’m hoping these things are addressed since this is a very lovely diner and I enjoyed coming here for some time with ...
