This was my first time going to Asahi Sushi. My favorite sushi places are all 15-20 minutes, so I was hoping to get something good nearby. The staff was friendly, and the restaurant was nice, though a little dark inside. Food took an average amount of time to come out, they weren't super busy. The miso soup was good. The shrimp tempura roll was okay. The rice was already dark, like it pre-soaked in some sauce? Which I've never seen before, so I was a little skeptical. The shrimp was very over cooked, rubbery and dry. Also had the pork donburi. The pork was dry, and there was so much liquid in the bowl it kind of made it unappetizing. I typically get pork katsu Don at other places, and I've never had it like this before. I would be willing to go again, but to try different things. The flavors were okay for the most part. I ordered a tempura upon that the waiter either forgot or didn't hear me, so by the time I realized it wasn't coming out, we were already full so I just canceled it. Waiter was very apologetic about it though. I mean I wanted it so it sucks, but I was full anyways no I guess no loss.

I've been going here for years and always leave satisfied. You might not expect it but this is a nice little unassuming gem tucked away in this shopping complex. Normally I get a bunch of different sushi rolls. Next to the sushi bar there is a list of special rolls, I like trying whatever concoctions they come up with when the put it on the board. My last visit I decided to try their hot stone bibimbap. Good move. The hot stone bowl kept my meal nice and toasty and sizzling until it the bowl was empty. The staff here is always friendly and helpful with any questions I've had about menu items. As I said the food is always great. If your looking for sushi or some traditional Korean or Japanese dishes this is a place to visit. Also if you're looking for some adult beverages you're in luck! Soju is always a nice addition.

Definitely one of my top choices for sushi! Bonus because they are open for dine-in later than many nearby for a Friday night! The space is inviting and dimmed for a romantic atmosphere and the service was attentive and friendly. We shared a bunch of things and not only did everything taste fresh and amazing, but also was plated beautifully! The veggie tempura was lightly battered and crispy and the shrimp fried rice was so flavorful. We shared the berry good, king salmon, spider, and tiger rolls! They were all so good! I was skeptical about the berry one with tuna and strawberry together… SO glad we tried it!! A such a unique flavor combo with a little spicy kick! All of our food came relatively quick and we really enjoyed our experience!

Asahi has eluded me for over 8yrs! I kept hearing from friends and acquaintances at how good and creative all the food was here but I was still a lil too jaded, I mean how can a strip mall sushi, Japanese and Korean spot can be outside of the Asian Alley district? Well I have come to find out on two different occasions it can be DAMED GOOD & very creative! On my first visit I wanted to have breakfast and for me that means any bowl of broth with yummy ingredients(most of the world first meal consists of some type of bowl of yumny broth with fresh ingredients and lil if no meat) I chose the dumpling soup, edamame, gyoza and nigiri of fatty tuna(this was jus a quick intro to how fresh their sushi would be and they passed with flying colors!) The gyoza we're crisp and homemade, edamame was perfectly steamed(I spiced it up with Chilli Pepper & salt) and the dumpling soup came out sooooo steaming hot that I knew I was in an OG establishment( Asians demand any soups to be served scalding hot) The Dumpling soup was very comforting, tasty broth and fresh veggies that just made my day! This decided it for me that I'll be back for the Sushi menu! On my second trip here I was blown away by the freshness, the service, the plating of all the Sushi was a dream and creative and the only time I used soy sauce was for my sashimi...PERFECT! This spot is definately a hidden Gem and perfect for that DATE NIGHT option. They offer a full bar(they are nicely heavy handed here a plus!) The Sushi Chef was very interactive and answered all questions or inquires and service was exceltional. This is a family run buisness that has been around for over 11yrs and...

I have been a customer since the first week Asahi opened its doors. It has always been my number 1 sushi place.

In the last year I have noticed a severe decline in the quality of service and now the food as well. I am extremely saddened and disappointed to say but I will not return again.

My last expiereince was horrific. I was ridiculed and berated In the restraunt in front of every guest and employee for not being satisfied with the tempura sushi roll I ordered- it wasn't prepared correctly. There was very literally zero tempura coating on the roll. I know how the roll should look (and taste) because I have eaten this roll 50+ times. When I asked for a new roll the supervisor literally picked up my food and squished it In Her fingers, while loudly yelling at me, now everyone in the place is starring at me, and she is walking up to tables showing them my roll while continuing to yell. Now I didn't even want a new roll, I wanted to leave and I told her I wanted my money back and she refused! She walked away from Me telling me no. The cooks prepared a second roll and she told me to take a good look because that's how it should be- the same way the first roll was (So I guess the 49 times before that day the roll was prepared incorrectly.) people looked at me like I was crazy because they didn't know what was going on. It was the most un-professional response I could have ever imagined.

All over a $10 sushi roll they've lost a Customer for life.

It's truly a shame. I hope the owners figure out what's going on and can fix...

I literally started a profile today just to tell you guys about my experience I have eaten here for the last two or three years they have amazing sushi but they messed up they double charged me and because the bank holds funds I had $50 held for the last five days because they charge me for somebody else's meal they realized the mistake and voided the charge. I went in the restaurant to tell them my situation... they would not do anything for me so I told them they needed to rectify the situation that they needed to be accountable for the fact that they messed up and they told me that everybody makes mistakes and I would just have to deal with it. I insisted that they do something about it they pulled over a second manager who basically started getting loud with me the first manager then gave me the money that they overcharged me and asked me to come back in when my bank reimbursed me now I have to make another trip back in so I said are you going to do anything for me when I come back in the first lady said we are not millionaires we cannot help you she got loud again so I decided to turn around and tell everybody in the restaurant that it was a great sushi but to use cash not a credit card.. this lady again started getting loud basically walked me right out the door while she was yelling was a complete jerk and told me to never come back ...fine I never will... there are many restaurants who not only have great sushi but have great customer service I will not spend my...
