Ping On Restaurant — Restaurant in Clinton Township

I have always given this restaurant five stars. I'm going there for years at least three times a month and more for my family. Every year at Christmas we have Chinese as a Christmas tradition. love the food at Ping On. Last year I called in my to go order and got there and it was not ready. Told me it would take an hour to make. It's Christmas time and I know it's busy. That's fine so this year I took the precaution calling in earlier just to make sure that not ordered would be made. The lady told me a half an hour. I went there after 40 minutes and waiting another 25 in the restaurant the manager told me that it wouldn't be ready until 6 another half an hour. I was told a half an hour so I gave them extra time. It's too bad because I love this restaurant. I'm in the restaurant business if you cannot process the orders do not take them. very very unacceptable 2 Christmases in a row I have gone without my dinner. General Tso's tastes like it's missing something, the sauce mostly tastes of sweetness and tomato. It was moister and better cooked than the almond boneless chicken which was cooked a little too long which made it a bit dry and the sauce was brown rather than the yellow-orange fruity stuff a lot of places are doing lately which I liked (I prefer the traditional thick brown gravy) but it tastes mostly just of salt and nothing else. Actually, all of the food except the egg rolls tasted like they were missing something. The quart of almond chicken came with only one pint of white rice which was irritating but the other portion sizes were very generous. The chicken fried rice has no other veggies or anything else in it besides rice and the little bits of chicken and is a bit bland. The egg rolls are excellent, very flavorful and filled with a combination of shredded veggies not just cabbage and comes with duck sauce. Very bad I got food from them last night I spend 80.89 for 4 dinner box’s for that much !! It was nasty too expensive also my brother orange chicken ate few bites and ended up stomach hurts and very bad bad nausea My mom had chicken and broccoli and the chicken tastes horrible and the rice was old and under cooked I had beef and broccoli and the meat was slimy rice undercooked it was horrible to put in my mouth my other brother had my brother also had chicken and broccoli also and the chicken was so bad!
