Friday July 2 2021 My fiancé bought a 30pc from the Captain Jays on Hall Road in Clinton Twp MI. Got home and I fixed my daughter a plate she was upset cause the meat didn’t taste right so I checked it and it was pink red raw look. So I took that one from her and gave her another piece. And it was the same way. I gathered all the food and took it back and had the two pieces that my daughter had to show the pink red raw look to the manager. The manager then came over took the meat that was half cooked threw it away and then grabbed a pc of meat out of the 10pc where the two that were half cooked came from and cracked it open and said he can only remake these which was a 10pc, but not the rest of the meat. I asked for the rest of the meat to be recooked cause I did not trust them to be cooked fully since they were cooked in the same grease at the same time. The manager then told me they were cooked hard. The manager then replied NO. So I asked to be refunded he then replied his rule his policy he don’t do refunds I asked him to show me his policy and refused cause he never showed me And nowhere in the store or on the receipt it states that. The manager also then replied you can’t take meat that you buy back from the grocery store once it’s been open. I then replied that’s not true cause if you buy meat open it and you are someone who cleans your meat and you noticed something not right that meat that’s open and your receipt is your ticket to return. So I then called my fiancé since he was the one who originally made the purchase. And he still refused to remake the food but the said the best he can do is take meat that left the store and was returned back and drop it back in the grease and cook it longer Ok at this point We still refused cause then that will cause the meat to be over cooked and hard . The manager then replied I do this for my customers all the time I waited until he served all his customers in the store which weren’t many not even 5 and asked the manager again regarding remaking the food he still replied No and asked me if the police were outside I replied No then asked him why did you call them He replied yes at this point I had no choice as if we were in there causing a big scene so then I later replied I will be contacting the Michigan Health Department He replied Thank you and have a good day at later after me leaving out of the store he was walking customers out and locking the doors and shut the lights out we waited patiently over 4min while they assist they customers trying to get our issue resolve and didn’t we were ignore as if we weren’t paying customers so therefore we ended up without no food and no refund we got over on and not satisfied at all with there serves Never had this issue with any other captain Jays that we’ve eaten if there was and issue they fixed it with no problem to run a business you need everything in black and white which is on paper I would just like to know who don’t do refunds on food what restaurant have you visit rather its face food or dine in carry out that do not remake or...
Read moreThis restaurant is terribly managed. On Christmas Eve, I placed my order 20 minutes ahead. I got to the restaurant and it was packed with customers both waiting to order and receive their order. Despite ordering ahead, I had to wait due to poorly managed lines, poor customer reception, and poorly trained staff. I had to get the attention of a staff member because they were not acknowledging customers. Once I did, I was told they could not find my order. They went searching and gave me a bag that had been sitting on the counter for over 15 minutes. I get home only to find that they gave me someone else's order. I went back to restaurant and was told they would make my correct order in 3 minutes. Despite my incredulity about 3 minute service, I waited 3 minutes, then 5, then I hit the limit of my patience at 10 minutes. However, my food was finally ready. The food tasted nowhere near good enough for the trouble I went through that night. Way to ruin a Christmas Eve.
Today I give them the benefit of the doubt and tried to repatronize the business. This time I ordered 30 minutes in advance, ample enough time to prepare my order. I get there and there is no cashier. I wait about a minute then look through the service window to find there to be only one person on staff both cooking and taking orders. I confirm with her that I am picking up and she says nothing further. There was no, "I'll be with you shortly" or anything. She never even came to the counter. I wait for 10 minutes but received no service and I became fed up and left. This place does not deserve my money. They give consistently bad service and look stressed and like they don't want to be there. This place needs to go under new management. I actually get better service in shady neighborhoods in Detroit. I would not expect such awful service in a nice...
Read moreHadn't eaten all day so was really hungry. Ordered the Whitting Fish and Chicken with Cole slaw and a Pepsi. Chose to eat there because I like my cooked food hot and fresh. Asked for utensils since there was none with my order. Girl said they have no utensils, no napkins, and no butter for the roll. In America we use utensils to eat with, and napkins to wipe our hands with. And most eat butter on our roll. Service was ok. But when food came fries were cold. The cook was polite but couldn't speak or understand English so communication was difficult but he finally understood and re-did a new order of fries. The coleslaw was so small ( one bite) in what is normally know as a "condiment" paper cup and looked as though it had been around for a couple days. Surely not fresh at all. I was so hungry, so ate there. I was forced to eat everything with my fingers since they give no utensils. About 1and 1/2 hour later I started cramping and got Diarrhea, being a Medical Professional myself I realized what was happening. Most likely Samonella from under cooked food or food that was out of the fridge too long before cooking it. Or it could have been the coleslaw that looked like it had been around awhile and not properly refrigerated. Either way I called right away, to just make them aware. The next day I called to speak to the manager because this could be serious and thought someone in management should be aware since, I was a Medical Professional myself. While talking with him he became defensive and would not listen to reason. He claimed he knew more about Samonella than I, a "Medical Professional". He actually said: "it takes 48 hours, not 1 hour or two, to react to Samonella. The Health Department needs to have a...
