Iāve been a regular customer at this Dairy Queen for a long time, always ordering the same thingāa plain cone in a cup with double cherry dip on the side. Today, I was met with a completely different response from a young woman behind the counter, who claimed they ādonāt do that here.ā
When I mentioned that Iāve ordered this here multiple times, she gave me a blank stare and replied, āHere?ā¦ā as if I was confused about where I was. I matched her tone and said, āYes. Here.ā She then insisted, āMy manager doesnāt allow that. Itās store policy. We donāt even have a button for that!ā
Excuse me? If thereās a button for double cherry dip on a regular cone, couldnāt you just enter that and accommodate a simple adjustment since I ordered in person? Itās not complicatedāespecially since Iāve had this order many times before. I live right down the street and have always come here, but after this experience, Iāll be taking my business elsewhere, even if it means going out of my way. Itās clear that customer service here is lacking, cleanliness is questionable, and food handling isnāt being taken seriously. Then I went through the drive through again today, at about 11am again and placed my order. Along with some food items, I ordered a medium Smores blizzard and the SAME THING HAPPENED with this blizzard. Only the top 2 inches had a little bit of graham cracker in it, no chocolate, like someone put a spoonful of mix-ins on top and just stirred. Now I know this isn't standard for your store, because I've come in with my kids to get ice cream instore a handful of times, and my blizzard always is made correctly when I come in and eat it there. Coming from someone who has worked all over the food industry, and did their fair share working a drivethrough back in the day, it looks like you have some slackers running your window during the early afternoon shifts. Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis Dairy Queen location was a huge disappointment and a major food safety concern. I visited on March 25th around 7:30 PM and ordered a Blizzard and two burgers. Almost immediately, I canceled the burgers after seeing the cook wearing black gloves, handling raw burger patties, placing them on the grill, and then using the same gloves to grab the burger buns. Thatās a clear case of cross-contamination and completely unacceptable.
If that wasnāt bad enough, another employee was eating fries straight from the bin where they keep the cooked fries. On top of these disgusting food safety violations, the store itself was an embarrassing messādirty, unorganized, and clearly not well-maintained.
I tried to do the right thing and called Dairy Queen corporate, expecting them to address this. But just like every other time Iāve reached out about issues (mostly rampant food mistakes at other locations), I never got a single call backānot even once, even when my order was severely wrong. Thatās beyond frustrating, especially as someone who goes through the drive-thru often with my family.
The owner of this location should be embarrassed that a customer had to escalate this issue and still never got a response. Itās clear that food safety and customer service are not priorities here. If they canāt even be bothered to follow up when serious health risks are reported, I can only imagine what goes on when no one is watching.
