Frosty Joey's — Restaurant in Clinton Township

Recently moved to Clinton from Tecumseh and have tried this place about 4-6 times now. Ice cream wasn't great at 1st but has improved and prices are pretty decent! Service could definitely use some work! There were 2 people working last time we went there and they clearly couldn't communicate correctly. We ordered a lemon custard and received orange dole whip. We also placed a 2nd order after we finished our ice cream so we could take home some of the hard dipped ice cream for family to try. We asked for the 3 scoops to be put in a larger container with a lid since we were taking it home. The girl taking the order said sure but we received them in regular cups with spoons and no lids. When I explained we had asked for it to be put in something larger (like a sundae cup) so we could close it, she said they didn't have lids for those containers. Plus, the 3 scoops we paid for were pretty skimpy if you ask me. Also, between the 2 orders we placed, 4-5 other people had placed orders and at least 2 of them had something that had to be remade due to it being incorrect so everyone seemed to be feeling the lack of customer...

I live very close to this shop but would rather drive the next town over to get ice cream and I’d advise others to do the same. I’ve really tried to give them a fair shake and have visited a few times because I want to support local businesses but their ice cream is mediocre and most days the service is subpar. During my most recent trip, I noticed the girl behind the counter was making my flurry with vanilla ice cream when I had requested chocolate so I kindly asked the other lady working to remind her, which she did. Later on while at home I was disappointed to learn that she had not remade the flurry but just put chocolate ice cream with a scoop of toppings over the top, leaving the rest of the cup filled with plain vanilla ice cream. I rarely write reviews but I felt this needed to be said as a warning to others. Drive the few extra miles to spotted cow for quality ice cream and...

I used to love this place but after seeing their recent behavior surrounding allegations of uncleanliness, I doubt I'll return, should they reopen.

Instead of speaking their piece on social media and leaving it be, they continued to argue and threaten people (with lawyers) before deleting their accounts. Very unprofessional of them. It's a shame that there was a "break-in" the day after - whether it was foul play or self inflicted to mask the issues, we'll never know.

Also, they admitted to "donating" the tips for the employees to local charity, saying that the employees can choose the hourly rate of $12-$14 or get the lower hourly rate that wait staff are paid plus tips. At the end of the day it is illegal and against federal labor laws to not distribute tips to the employees.

I'd hate to see this little local gem from my childhood once again close so hopefully they can get...
