Excellent donuts, PACZKI and pasties.

I’ve passed this small understated shop for years. Sorry I didn’t stop in sooner.

The PACZKIs are excellent and much better than those found at one of the more popular PACZKI places in Hamtramck. For that matter, better than almost all PACZKI‘s I’ve had over the years. The cake of the donut is moist enough, but yet has the desired consistency. The filling is excellent. The glazing, my preferred variety of PACZKI, is not too thick with the right balance of overall sweetness.

The staff is friendly, competent and efficient. I wasn’t surprised to hear that people come from as far away as Richmond, Northville, and other outlying areas for these sought after PACZKI‘s. I have not yet tried, but look forward to tasting their pasties. Also look forward to trying their other baked goods. They also have Mackinac Island Fudge.

Definitely worth a stop for donuts, PACZKI‘s, pasties and more. Well done...

I consider myself a bit of a donut addict. So much so, that a friend of mine used to call me Bobbie Bag O' Donuts. I love trying different donut shops in the Detroit area and also whenever I travel. Here are some things I look for that tell me if it's a good donut shop: It's a non-franchised, non-corporate owned shop. It has some new and unique varieties, but also know how to properly makes all the classics. Probably most important is that apple fritters are big, bumpy, crispy, and gooey. Golden Donuts checks all the boxes. It's also bright and colorful making it as cheerful as it's employees. Easily one of the best donut shops I've ever been to. The giant donut cake they made for my birthday exceeded my expectations on both design and taste. I highly recommend the Strawberry Pop Tart and the Coconut...
