This place USED to be good, but for the past year or so, it is NOT anymore. We’ve bought from China Moon since they opened. NEVER AGAIN!!! Overpriced for carry-out/pick-up only, and they NEVER give you any napkins or the extras you might order and pay for. The older woman who takes your order over the phone is RUDE, and should speak way better English for the decades she’s been here.
FOOD—Always hot, but MEH. Our dozen egg rolls were not stuffed much and just mostly deep-fried wrap. The vegetable fried rice was NOT fried, and was just white steamed rice with mostly onions, mushrooms, and just one piece of broccoli with soy sauce squirt on the top. We could see where they just poured soy sauce on top before they STAPLED shut the container. (We also found staples in the rice.) The vegetable Lo mein was a small portion of noodles with mostly sauce, mushrooms, and onions, and AGAIN with just ONE piece of broccoli. (This must be their pattern now.) They give the worst, cheapest complimentary fortune cookies ever IF they feel you’re worthy of receiving any. WARNING—Don’t order any extras, as you’ll be charged for them, but you won’t receive them. The food temperature was very hot, BUT it’s so MEH. I’ve recently prepared doctored-up LaChoy Chinese food from the can that was better and tastier than this steamed mush at a much more reasonable price. Just learn to use a can opener and invest in a good chef’s knife to cut fresh vegetables. (The dinner rolls are burnt, too.) Finally, the last concern with this place now is that their chicken is now a overly-processed, spongey-textured meat “product.” YUCK!!! 🤮
Seriously, please, avoid this place, and sadly, I can’t recommend any other good Chinese restaurants, as this one WAS the last good one, and now it’s just a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. I have attempted the last few times we bought food here to complain to the manager by telephone to personally give them feedback before resorting to Yelping them, but to no avail. They don’t care, and won’t even offer you refunds for the extras we paid for but didn’t receive. They offer no restitution for...
Read moreI have been coming to china moon for the past 13+ years since I was little with my parents and was always greeted by a nice host (Tall guy) and waitresses from beginning to end. When I first walked in after the pandemic to see the place has changed to a to go spot only kind of killed my feelings and childhood memories but I said to myself let me not judge it by it's new no dining and try to see if the food will take my mind off of it. I ordered shrimp egg foo young, Shrimp fried rice and egg rolls. I have to tell the truth that the food is definitely not the same, the rice tasted different, the egg rolls were very oily and the sauce for the egg rolls looked cloudy and not the same as what I was use to. Not sure if they changed to new cooks or if the cooks retired but just in my opinion it's not the same and I can expect that being a new establishment with new owners but come on at-least bring some of the old cooks back to watch them how they would make the food and to teach the new cooks, The previous china moon made their food with love and emotion into it, Like when you took a mouthful of the rice or sweet and sour chicken it hit your soul and I'm Puerto Rican LOL. Everyone has their opinion of it but mine is not so good and this will probably be my last time going to china moon due to the food not tasting the same, maybe I'll give them one more chance but when i seen that sauce for the egg rolls looking like that (Cloudy) I was like yeeeaahhhh I'm not liking this...
Read moreSuper easy to order online. Delivery arrived before quoted with bag sealed, warm food, soy sauce & a fork.
I opted for the Almond Boneless Chicken combination. I’ll break the review up into the 3 sections & make sure none of the food touches ;)
The egg roll was tasty, dipping sauce was sticky & delicious. Glad it came with the combo, wouldn’t order it a la cart.
The fried rice. I didn’t come up with the name, it just said that it came with fried rice. I’m not sure if it was a misprint, if it was a miscommunication on the menu, if they ran out? I was served a heaping scoop of freshly cooked rice with soy sauce in it. Was it good? Yeah. Just not what I was expecting.
The ABC… thick fried chicken, chopped up & served over a bed of lettuce with a sprinkle of sliced almonds. This dish is a glorified chopped chicken nugget if the gravy, served on the side falls short. The gravy was reminiscent of a place I ate at for a few decades so I may be partial but it worked for me.
My only complaint was the chicken could have used a little more salt. That may sound odd when some carry out can get a little salty, but that’s just my personal opinion.
Lots of places in the area to choose from, these reviews remind myself of what I’ve had & hopefully help you decide whether or not to order yourself. Either way I hope you enjoy your dinner as much...
