Something has changed! It hurts me to have to write this review, but it's only right..... I ordered a feast for 2 people, a $65 takeout order. Two chicken shawarma dinners, big tub of garlic sauce, big container of hummus, big container of labna (yogurt) and a tub of rice pudding. I also had to order 12 pieces of extra bread for all the dipping garlic and hummus. EVERYTHING WAS NOT AS GOOD AS USUAL, EVERY SINGLE THING. The hummus was overly runny, and had thin consistency. The garlic sauce was thinner texture also and not even close to it's usual good flavor, I would rate it as "below average" taste. The labna was very thick, although I may have been trying to order Laban, which is usually thinner, unless I am mistaken on this point. The chicken shawarma dinners were bland, and only included chicken and rice. This place charges extra for the standard pickle and radish garnish that all places provide with "dinners" The chicken shawarma is rather bland without the pickles, and most restaurants are aware of this. The lack of garnish also provides a poor presentation. You can order the take out and see for yourself. But this place does not include any pickles or garnish with the dinner, so I had to drive back to "buy some" but they were gracious enough to waive the charge, which is $2 for some pickles..... They actually charge for bread if you buy garlic sauce. I have ordered garlic dip at over 50 different places and every single place gives bread with the order, because the dip is eaten with bread. But be careful here, if you order garlic dip to go...because you will get no bread with it. They also don't provide any bread with the hummus, and every other place does. Most places serve a bread basket when you eat dinner, but this place charged us for each piece of bread that was over the "3" pieces that are included with each dinner. So the experience was a real bummer, the food does not taste "good" anymore, something has changed, and they are still charging the same price that they did for "good" food. But somehow, I ordered the exact same order about a month ago and it was $10 less, so maybe they have actually raised their prices, or just screwed me on the bread cost. But it was a poor experience. On a positive note, this place has a good recipe for rice pudding, but I haven't tasted "this" rice pudding yet, but the recipe looks the same. I really enjoyed the food here in the past, but at $65 (no drinks) for 2 people, to just get "below average" food, is just a disgrace. I understand business and how a "new cook" can take some fine tuning, so if that is the case and the owner wants to reply with a logical response as to why this happened, with an acceptable remedy, then I may remove this "long effort" review. I'm sad to post this, because this place was solid, but we all know how things change, and it sucks to find out...
Read moreI've been a loyal Kabob Castle customer for years. Many staff know my order by heart because I always order the same thing. I've had many good experiences. But unfortunately, my recent experiences, especially with one of the managers, Ramzi, have been deeply disappointing.
During my last visit, I called to address an issue with my order—my chicken was overcooked, and I received the wrong salad. I was placed on hold for ten minutes, so I eventually hung up, assuming they had forgotten about me. When I called back, I was sent straight to voicemail. However, my call was answered immediately when I used a different number, so their behavior (lack of professionalism) felt purposely dismissive.
Ramzi (through another staff member) responded by belittling my concerns, labeling them as "simple," and accusing me of having "too many complaints." This seemed odd, given I've only placed two or three orders this month. And I've been nothing but respectful. When I challenged the claims, they couldn't specify what "too much" entails. The staff informed me that Ramzi wouldn’t offer a remake and would only provide a refund if I returned with the partially eaten food. This response was insulting because it implied I was trying to scam the business instead of simply seeking a corrected order. I waited 45 minutes for an order that should have been ready in 20. At least four other customers experienced the same situation, and none of us were thanked for our patience. No apology for the mishap with my order or anything. This tells me they do not respect customers.
Kabob Castle, do better. Ramzi, if you’re reading this, remember that there is no business without customers. Your staff should communicate wait times, thank customers for their patience, and address order issues professionally. Dismissing customers simply for voicing a complaint (even if you find it trivial) is not the right approach. I’m truly disappointed with how I was treated, and based on this experience, I do not plan to patronize you all in the future. I should have been treated better after patronizing this business for more...
Read moreFamily night out and tonight choice is kabob Castles. Family of four review, we arrived at the restaurant at 7:50ish p.m. No other customers dining in tonight just the family of four who's starving like marven. No one was able to greet or show us where so sit after waiting a few minutes we sat ourselves at one of the booths, other tables still had old dishes and cups on other tables it felt kinda odd empty restaurant dirty tables, but still we sit and seek hot delicious food. After waiting 5 minutes and no one walked over my wife peeked over her shoulder and the waitress saw and singled to use she was in her way but still minutes pass with no service. The waitress arrived looking so sad and had that 'I hate my job feeling" and brought over some High quality H20 from the faucet that had very little ice and it was still warm water and asked if we were ready to order. Everyone replied "yes" she said replies "OK I'll be right back" 7 minutes later she returns dragging a dead anchor around her ankle because she is taking her sweet time over to our table. Tonight's order 1 chicken strip kids meal with lemon rice soup, 1 cheeseburger meal with lemon rice soup, original gyro with fries and lemon rice soup, 1 bowl of lemon rice soup, a smoothie, 3 drinks, it took 31:45 for our food to arrive at our table once our order was placed. Carry out orders were placed and filled before our all of our food was at the table, the waitress forgot to add fries to my meal, chicken was hard and old, gyro was cold, the cheeseburger was big, the fries were cold as well. I had to go and ask about our food at the 25 minute mark. 3 1/2 meals cost me $60.00 you do the math. Tonight was a bust. Bad service, terrible food, canned pop, equals 2 thumbs...
