National Coney Island - Masonic & Gratiot — Restaurant in Roseville

Food is 10 out of 10 but as an employee.. 1 star because there was an issue. (Only Male Waiter ) Recently let go by the company for 1 complaint, (minor) still got an 8$ tip yet it was the kitchen who bumped off the tables order so it took forever, blamed me because the management would rather make me look like a poor server just to save there behinds, tells me shes letting me go also because i was slow on Friday but had Fridays off so clearly she failed to lie to me correctly and made herself look like she had her reason to fire me but wouldn't tell me otherwise. Had to find out from an employee why they fired me, told her i had an attitude which is crazy because every waitress almost have an attitude everyday about tips, guys, at home drama but when i have a little attitude about a couple things and no reason why or knew i was having any, i was let go. They should of addressed my issue, told me to fix it then begin terminatation if i fail to fix it. Not fire me for the reasons above, waitress told me they have there favorites. Not one waitress had an issue with me but yet i was told different Management lied straight to my face, i knew i wasent getting fired for a complaint, or being slow because the adult manager didnt wanna conversate with me about the situtation because she gave me 2 lies and she couldnt talk about it because she made the stuff up, im 25, i look like a kid, used to manage the busies tim hortons in michigan, i know how it all works.... Its clear that nationals had a personal problem with me because if it was what it was they would of just told me the truth. You ever leave a job without closure? An atwill company is what it is but its not right, expecially when they will let you go because of personal/discriminated or favoritism in the work place. I feel like i should recieve my job back and allowed another shift to prove im a strong server.

On September 28, 2019 my girlfriend, our best friend and myself decided to eat at National Coney Island. We went to the one at 32088 Gratiot. We did not have a great experience at all.

We had to wait 10 minutes to be seated. Once we got seated, our waitress took another 5 minutes to take our drink order. We waited another 10 minutes for her to come back and we finally placed our order. My girlfriend ordered a cheeseburger, my best friend and I ordered Bosco sticks and cheese fries. We noticed that others food arriving before ours and we ordered before them. It took 30 minutes for our food to arrive and when it finally did, it was warm and not hot.

While we were eating our waitress did not check up on us. We waited over 15 minutes to get our bill, then the waitress never came back to collect. We finally approached the waitress and paid her. One was paid with a credit card and one was paid with a $20 bill. An hour later we noticed that my girlfriends' card was charged twice. We figured out the waitress kept my $20 and charged the card again. We talked to a manager to let him know that his waitress charged us twice and he replied with “let's not just assume” but we knew she took it. My girlfriend went in to try and resolve the issue but that didn’t work so my best friend stepped in and the waitress got mad because we caught her stealing it and she denied it. My best friend got angry and said we weren't leaving without my $20. The rude manager had enough and took the $20 from the cash register. food was great. me and my friend had dinner, our waitress was super friendly. we paid and tipped, i hadn't finished my drink and i wanted a to-go cup. it was a busy night and i assumed our waitress was busy dealing with other tables, we couldn't find her. so i went up to the front counter to ask for a to-go cup. not was i only disrespected once, but TWICE by TWO female workers. the first time i politely asked when she wasn't speaking to anyone "can i get a to-go cup?" she said "i'm busy doing something give me a minute" she then ignores me and goes on. okay i thought, i wait another few minutes. i ask another worker, i said "excuse me" twice. she looked at me with a glare like i was bothering her as she said "i'm doing something" as she mumbled something else. i walked away before i said something else.

i'm sorry that they're swamped and it's a busy friday night, but it was so unnecessary the way i was treated. they could not take 10 seconds out of their time to grab me a small cup so i could get out of their hair?? not 1 disrespectful worker, but two. as i stood there at the counter for 5 minutes, with them knowing i needed something.

i took the plastic coke cup with my sprite in it, and left with my friend. i am not a wasteful person so i took it with me. we probably won't be returning. the girls that worked at the counter on the night of 3/12/21 have an attitude problem and need to work on their...
