WOW! This has been one of my finest dining experiences ever! Stephanie L. provided perfect service and the food continued the perfection theme! The homemade bread when you first sit down was soft, warm, and delicious with a plate of cheese & seasonings & oil. My wife won the appetizer choice against my better judgment, she went with the spinach & artichoke dip. The dip was creamy & Cheese! Even the chips were homemade & incredibly tasty! For the main event, I got the Prime Ribeye Steak over Gorgonzola Mac & Cheese. I have eaten at every steak house from Tokyo to NYC. This was the BEST! Less $ than Ruth's Chris & more flavor! WIN! My little one got the regular Mac & Cheese which was creamy & delightful! The dessert was caramel ice cream over shallah bread..just get it trust me! Excellent food. Excellent service. Excellent atmosphere. Truly excellent restaurant. If Gordon Ramsey came here, he could just eat instead...
Read moreBest place hands down for, by far, the most excellent food I've ever had. Been coming here since the beginning, and have always had the most wonderful experience. From the wonderful staff, to the food, and the ambiance. You just can't beat it. The owner Elias is, in a word, a "genius." His recipes by far are simply superb. I have tried most everything on the menu at one time or another, and I have yet to have a bad meal. I usually ask for Stephanie. She is my go to waitress. She is always very personable, and accommodating. She is simply a joy to have serving me. I always tip her well, as she is deserving of it. My favorite dishes are the mussels on the half shell. Always big and meaty, imported straight from New Zealand. The broth is like nothing I've ever had before, truly addictive. The burrata, prosciutto, and fruit mostarda hors'd'ouveur, is not to be missed. House made cream and ricotta filled burrata mozzarella, with the salty nuttiness of the imported prosciutto, and the sweet tart taste of the homemade fig, black cherry, and apricot fruit mostarda. Drizzled with balsamic infused olive oil. It is just superb. As far as dinner dishes go. I thoroughly enjoy his homemade lobster filled ravioli, covered in his homemade lobster bisque. What a perfect complement to such a delicate ravioli. It's even crowned with extra lobster meat. His seafood Alfredo, which is fairly new, is a true gem. Sweet Maine lobster meat. With plump shrimp, and tender sea scallops, tossed in a homemade Alfredo sauce, with his house made fettuccine. Just excellent!!! Even though it is a bit pricey, I have, on occasion, had his exquisite filet mignon. Always cooked to a perfect medium/rare, with that savory wine sauce. I always order it with mushrooms, and a side of his grilled shrimp, to make it a surf and turf. The only thing that has ever disappointed me, was that he discontinued my favorite dessert. It was a chocolate espresso pudding, with a marscapone whipped cream. It was excellent, and I truly miss it. Hoping that one day, he will bring it back. However, I am very partial to his Creme' Brule. In a nutshell, this restaurant by far is one of the best, most well run restaurants I've ever been to, and I think Elias should win an award for his chef creations. Thank you for eight plus years of the most wonderful food ever....
Read moreThe food is good, best in area.....HOWEVER, this is my first time being there since Covid and before I would give 5 stars and now I take 2 away for the following reasons:
They have started marking up a drink depending on which alcohol you prefer in the mixed drink. For instance I prefer Titos vodka over Stoli. The mixed drink menu featured a Stoli drink I asked for Titos and got upcharged on a separate line 2.00 for each drink (ordered 2 drinks so 4.00 extra).
Next they asked if we wanted water, I said yes and person I was with said No. I asked for sparkling. She brought 2 bottles of Voss and broke seals on both before we realized. Didnt complain there but irked us when realized with bill 4.00 each.
Next my friend ordered one of the 39.00 steak dinners. Prior to Covid the entre' included a side of veggies. He asked when ordering what his choice of side would be? She went through the veggie offerings, he picked mushrooms. Got bill and charged 7.00 for the mushrooms, not included with meal.
So while I love their food and yes it is pricey but we go every 2 or 3 months to splurge, I think they have hidden charges that are not explained upon ordering. The change they should make is to be upfront extra charges to let the customer decide.
If you offer water, ask if you mind tap or there is an extra charge for bottled and tell the customer the brand. Say the brand and if customer asks price, tell them.
If you are not including a veggie side with the meal, tell them there is an extra charge.
And when a customer asks for a higher quality alcohol to be included in their drink tell them there is an extra charge and when customer asks how much consult bartender if you have to.
I understand Covid has been rough on restaurants but not being upfront about additional charges is sending the perception of being sneaky. It's not fair to the consumer either. They are a higher end restaurant in a blue collar town, understand your clientele in the area and maybe if it's too much to explain the extra charges increase the amount of money on entrees and alcoholic beverages but always give the option on water and state the brand as we all know Voss is more expensive than a Poland Spring brand. I still recommend for a nice meal to splurge on and I want them to continue their success....I just want them to be...
