Lou's Diner — Restaurant in Clinton

This is a definite small town breakfast spot. There are usually one or 2 people working and they make the food right in front of you. The bacon is always crispy and frankly the food is always good. The reason for the 3 stars is that the prices change depending on who is working. One day your meal is $6 and then the next day the same meal is $12. When you confront them on this fact you then are made to feel like the bad person as the price is adjusted to something in the middle of each price. I hate places that make you uncomfortable when it isn't needed. They have 3 things on the menu but you can ask for anything and that is the problem. So this day my girlfriend and I had to go bring our kitten to get neutered. So they day was already horrible. We dropped her off and had to find a quick breakfast place. Now let me tell you Clinton has a lot of breakfest places. But my girlfriend looked up lou dinner it had 4.5 star. And she just chose it because the home frys looked just like the one she used to eat as a little girl. And let me tell you this place is so homey you can’t stop talking about how cute it is. So we order just normal sunny side up eggs and homefrys. They where so delicious 🤤 like mouth watering . we will be coming every Tuesday ! But it got our minds off what was happen to our cat. This place is underrated. It’s everything you’d hope it would be based on how it looks from the outside. Like stepping back in time. An absolutely classic diner. I took my daughter here on a daddy daughter date. The chef was Lou’s son who said he’s been working there 54 years. My daughter had a “Mickey mouse pancake” and I had eggs and toast with coffee. All of the food was good (standard diner food, granted). After breakfast the chef showed my daughter and I behind the counter and the kitchen and walk in fridge/freezer out back.
