Hungry Howie's Pizza — Restaurant in Clovis

I ordered there on Sunday through their online website for our game night. Someone from doordash claimed to have our order, but did not deliver our pizza. We called the store, and they tried to dodge us by leaving us on a hold for more than 10 minutes, and then they tried to tell us that they'll call us back at 10pm to see if we'll be refunded or if we'll get our pizza. That statement was ridiculous since we know they closed at 10pm, so why would they make our pizza? I told them I'll just pick up the pizzas. We ordered at 8pm, expected the pizza to be delivered at 9pm, but when we got there at 9:30, they didn't have or pizza made or ready at all. My friends and I tried to be understanding since they had only 2 workers, so we waited patiently. One of the workers was even openly swearing about issues with the order, and being yelled at by the owner. The owner's son, Danny, told me that we would be refunded by Thursday or not charged for our trouble. I said thank you and we went on our way home. On Thursday, I received a notification that I was charged for the pizza, so I called the store and a different employee said that Danny mispoke & did not have the authority to tell us we would get a refund since we picked up the pizza anyway. I just think it was unfair since, it was their mistake for:

1. having a doordash driver deliver our pizza instead of their own employees since we payed through the website
2. for having us pick up the pizza on our own despite having a delivery fee
3. making us wait about 2 hours for our order

We tried to be understanding of them & did not give them a hard time, and we just wanted to be rightfully refunded for their multiple mistakes & the trouble we had to go through to get our meal. This needs to be made right by the owner or general manager, if not, we will take our business elsewhere & tell our friends & families to...

Every time we go here it is a pleasant experience. From the manager to the crew, they have great customer service and the wait time is not that long. They are fast and efficient! There pizzas are delicious when you choose your flavored crust. Our family usually chooses three flavors to put on the pizza crust. The flavors are asagio cheese, garlic herb, and butter cheese. The next time your family is craving a mouth watering pizza, try their bbq chicken (bacon is optional). The bacon is included in the bbq chicken pizza, but we leave it out. For a family of 6 we usually get 2 large pizzas and 1 large bbq chicken w/o the bacon. The total of the pizzas came out to $59.35. Before inflation hit, the cost was around $45.00-$50.00. I thought I found a good pizza place. Pizza is good. But I had the rudest encounter I've had at a pizza place, or any fast food place. They need to get customer service down. First words greeting an entering customer should be "hello, welcome to hungry howies". But no. I pointed out that I could not come back. Counter person said "do what you gotta do". So I will.
