Gottschalk Music Center — Local services in Clovis

I have been a loyal customer at Gottschalks Music Store for about 7 years now, with no end in sight. I am giving them a glowing review, but I honestly have no connection with them other than being a loyal customer. I am a single dad with little musical ability, but I do my very best to support my two daughters who have found a true passion in music. I truly appreciate all the help Gottschalks has given me in supporting this effort.

My two daughters (currently a Senior and a Sophomore in high school) play the clarinet and the violin respectively. I purchased both of their instruments at Gottschalks, my kids have both taken music lessons there, I don’t go anywhere else for clarinet reeds and violin strings (Connor and Elisa provide very knowledgeable and friendly advice as needed), and they provide all the needed service and repairs for every instrument that is used in any grade school, middle school, high school, college, or professional music group. You won’t find friendlier people or better service anywhere. They sell quality instruments at various price points, and they don’t sell anything that isn’t worth taking home (unlike eBay or Amazon where you’re on your own). Everyone who works there is passionate about music and excited to help other musicians, and I cannot recommend them...

1000% Positive Experience from the time I called this little gem of a shop, to the time we decided on a Cello outfit. I am from out of the area. After telling them what I needed for my son, they were quick to help. They opened their doors a half hour earlier at a convenience to me because of my drive and schedule. They had numerous bows and cellos laid out for my son. They allowed him to take what he needed home to test over a period of time and answered ALL questions thoroughly. Also? When we had an issue in taking home the wrong bow, they sent someone to drive all the way to my area to switch it out with the correct one. Good Afternoon, I dropped my daughter's trumpet off August 19, 2019. I was told by the staff, the instrument would be ready Friday, August 23. I stopped pass the music store, Monday morning, August 26, to get a status on the instrument. I was told the trumpet was not ready. I called Tuesday afternoon, August 27, and was told the trumpet was not ready. I am a value costumer, who value other people time and would like the same in return. Unfortunately, it does not happen. If the instrument was not going to be ready for pick-up on the day provided by the staff (Friday 23 August), courtesy calls should be made informing the customer a status on their "drop off" instruments.
