Taqueria Jalisco Inc. — Restaurant in Clovis

Food is good, micheladas are perfect for the hot weather. Staff is friendly. But like everything in NM, is a far cry from “real Mexican” food. We had the Choriqueso, cheese with chorizo…. Boy was it a huge disappointment, it’s just nacho cheese sauce with some bits of chorizo, BUT not that melted stringy cheese boiling with chorizo one gets in REAL MEXICAN RESTAURANTS (and nothing like the menu photo) . But the food is good, the tacos are good, the burritos, the plates, good. For the location it’s the best you can have in Mexican Food. We had the green burrito, the tampiqueña plate, the choriqueso (still laughing at that one), daughter had the chicken strips.

New review 18/07/23 Went back cause daughter was craving tacos…. Ordered one barbacoa taco it just tasted nasty, not eatable. The enchiladas were a bit on the dry side… the bacon wrapped shrimp were tasty, but my michelada was not as tasty as other times, too much hot sauce.

One thing I would like to point out…. Our server had very long nails, when bringing out our plates I did notice one of her nails was into the food, like sticking into it. It’s just not right…. If one works in a food place, then long nails are not an option.

Dinner on July 16th. Recommended by our hotel. Food was adequate... Nothing special. Service was frustrating and they were not busy... It was a little before 8pm, they are open till 9pm. Salsa was different, probably a regional thing. A waitress came to take our order right after we were seated. Since we had never been to the restaurant, we asked for a few minutes. Shortly after the first waitress, a second waitress came to take our order. I again explained that this was our first visit and we would like a few minutes... After the second waitress, we couldn't even flag down a waitress. They wouldn't even look at us. That was difficult since we were close to the hostess stand. Other customers were seated and served food before a waitress finally came back 15 minutes later for our order. Our food was delivered fairly quick, but the kitchen got it wrong. Thankfully we were not charged for their error. Staff couldn't be bothered to acknowledge thank you or good night as we left. We don't have a reason to ever go back and will not recommend. Hotel says they won't recommend...

OMG! I rely heavily on online reviews when I try a new place to eat and boy do I regret relying on these google reviews for this restaurant !! I’m extremely disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. Beans taste like they’re from a can, the same with the enchilada sauce!!!! Rice is weird I did not even taste it, just looked gross. My husband ordered menudo and boy was that a mistake!!!!! His menudo was white! Not even a little hint of red at all! Completely flavorless and disgusting all together. When we asked if this was really in fact their menudo, they blamed the color on my husband putting 3 little lime slices in it to help with ... well idk what my husband was thinking nothing could help that “ menudo” except throwing it in the garbage. Just if your from El Paso or Hobbs or Carlsbad steer clear of this place I promise you they are not what your looking for, it’s not even Tex mex food like Rosa’s cafe, it’s complete...
