If you want good asian food go across the street to Shanghai. Seriously.

We started off with egg rolls, spring rolls, and crab / cheese puffs and intended to order some pho after, but after our apitizers we decided to just call it in there.

The cheese puffs were tiny and contained no imitation crab, the spring rolls were chewy and the shrimp rubbery (also on the menu photo it shows four spring rolls, we were only given two), and the egg rolls were frozen store brand.

We purchase frozen egg rolls frequently and we knew the moment we saw them they were just some HEB brand egg rolls. However to give them the benefit of the doubt we bit in anyways, and just confirmed our suspicion.

It's a lot cheaper than Shanghai, and the staff is friendly. However the cheap cost and friendly staff doesn't change the fact that the food...

While working in Lake Jackson I decided to try the only game in town for Viet. I decided on the Spicy Beef Pho as take-out for lunch. The broth is decently seasoned but I found myself wanting a little more kick in terms of spicy. The bowls appear to be pre-assembled with five to six chunks of beef that are thick, gristly, and parboiled brown along with three to four meatballs. For vegetables they include two slices of jalapeño, a small bunch of cilantro, a slice of lime cut in two, and the rest beansprouts. The only unpleasant part of the meal was the beef but the lack of mint, basil, and extra peppers left me searching for a flavor still missing from the Lake Jackson area. An excellent Thai place that offers a wonderful half off discount to veterans and First responders.

They're reasonable hours and open floor plan make for a wonderful dining experience during daylight hours.

I can honestly say that I have never had a bad meal from this restaurant. For a while, their chef was out sick because of a medical issue, he has since returned, and the restaurant is back to being the wonderful establishment that it truly is.
