I ordered my food in drive thru which the whole process from menu board to actually getting food was approxamently an hour fifteen minutes to an hour and a half of waiting in line when i got my food it was all cold and not only was it cold but i had ordered onion rings a large and a medium and both were burnt and the medium onion ring only had four rings in it and the large a little bit more, my grilled chicken sandwich looked like they made it swim in the sauce they put on the bread which made the bread soggy and it didnt help that the sadwich was cold as well. and it wasent like i waiting to start eating my order i was in the parking lot getting it out and noticed all this. I also had orderd fries with the other order and they were not even in the bag. So because of this I ended up having to go in to talk to a manager and try to gt it right. when I go in it was horrible, they had people just standing around doing nothing, managers yelling out loudly to the crew being hateful, and customers trying to get service but no one helping them and when they ask they say were short handed yet they had employees all over just standing around in the back not doing anything. I had asked for a manager to try to get my issue fixed and one wouldnt leave drive thru area because they wanted to proceed to yell at the employees to do this or that and yet they wernt getting it done, she told one employee at the fryer to put food in bags but he was just standing there looking lost and dumbfounded.. I finally had a manager after about five minutes of waiting for one to show up and help me come up and get the issue fixed but even then i ended up with more cold food and no apology except were short staffed. 12-15 employees in the back is not short staffed. I used to work at whataburger in the past and this kind of service would never have been allowed, and its not just this location its also the lake jackson and angleton location with these same kind of issues and service time. because of all this I will not be going back to these locations because im never going to pay the outrageous prices for the food if the food isnt going to be fresh and have bad service every time. Read moreUPDATE: I returned to this same location last night (3 days after original posting). Moved the star rating up as they definitely redeemed themselves as the food was top notch and what I am used to. The service was still average at best as there was a line and no one running the counter. There were 4 high school girls in the dining area on break being obnoxious, but one finally came up to take orders even though she was off the clock (she made sure we all knew that). At the same time you can't always predict a random rush. Much better this go around!
Whataburger is hands down my favorite fast food burger place anywhere...and I'm sure part of this whatalove is from the fact I don't live anywhere near any of their locations. It's a must every trip I take to Texas (2-5 times a year).
This visit to this location was much under par than usual. Ive never had any issues at any location before. The outside was bright and clean as normal with the Orange , White and oversized W were like welcoming beacons. When placing my order, the cashier (an older lady...maybe retired) seemed to be new or not know how to use the register quite yet so the process took a long time. I had a gift card that kept being declined even tho I had no doubt about the amount it was worth. After running it 3 times she said it must not be valid. I asked for a manager and the cashier told me to come back to the counter later because there was a line behind me. I used my normal bank card to pay and then waited. Recieved my food which was another under par aspect of this visit. Fries overcooked, burger had no flavor and toppings barely existing.
After the line cleared a manager verified the amount on the gift card and was less than enthused to do a return on my bank card (which no receipt was available) and I paid with the gift card. Almost a 2star rating in reality based on this experience alone but stayed at 3 because of previous good to excellent...

Sit in line forever to get a smart ass rude kid take my order with no regard of how I was ordering and basically jus dec to make my order how she wanted to or just didn't feeling removing items that I didn't want on my wife's burger. Then when I get to the window to pay after about 30 minutes. She repeats my order, an I tell no that's not what I ordered she proceeded to ask me if I wanted this and that. I i asked how hard is it to understand that a burger with meat cheese and moto only is exactly that. NO I DON'T WANT MUSTARD OR ONIONS OR LETTUCE OR PIC OR ANYTHING ELSE BUT MEAT CHEESE AND MAYO THAT SIMPLY. An after getting the window slammed in my face throwing her hands up in the air and walking off with major attitude her manager comes to the window comes halfway out the window an asks what's the problem looking at me like he wanted to fight. Needless to say I had word's with him too about his rude ignorant ass incompetent employee and drove off some someone else paid for that order because I damn sure didn't. I will never go to clute Texas whataburger through their joke ass...
