I donât think I have ever not given a great review for services rendered. After 30+ years of ordering pizza at Kelseys in PSJ, a few months ago the pizza started going in a downward spiral and never improved after multiple attempts. The pizza barely had any toppings on it, the pizza dough was either burnt or undercooked and really was bland and had no taste. I didnât review the incidents at that time but we decided to no longer order pizza from Kelseys in PSJ. On another note the calzones have been really great, but after multiple attempts last night, we want be ordering the calzones anymore. We ordered 2 #1 calzones and they were delivered in a timely manner. When I opened the styrofoam container one calzones dough was almost completely uncooked dough( I would post the picture, but I canât find where I can do this). The second calzone was cooked around the edges, but the center was also uncooked dough. I called and spoke to a female who first told me that the pizza dough just looks that way and I explained to her that I have never received a calzone that the dough was undercooked. She then told me I could cook it in the oven. I explained to her that if I had wanted to cook supper I wouldnât have called them. After multiple excuses for the undercooked dough I told her that I wouldnât be ordering anything from them anymore and she told me that I didnât need to get upset about it and they would make it right. She said they would make two more and have them delivered. I told her that I had already waited an hour and she stated that they werenât busy and it wouldnât take that long. So finally two more calzones were delivered and I could only keep one of them because one was a repeat of the other two. I asked if the delivery guy if he could deliver another cooked calzone and he stated he would see what could be done. About a half hour later the delivery person brought us our money back for one calzone and stated that the female said that she wasnât going to make us another calzone or deal with us anymore. Fortunately for us we at least got one calzone that was cooked completely and our money back on the other. Unfortunately we will not be doing business at Kelseys Pizza in PSJ. Lesson is to check your food before the delivery person leaves...
Read moreFor dinner tonight we went to Kelsey's Pizzeria in Port Saint John. Over the past few years we have eaten at several Kelsey's locations and have always been quite satisfied. However, tonight it seems that we chose poorly when deciding on our entrees.
First impressions are always important and the fact that the menus were worn to the point that the text was smeared and the pages were sticky was not positive. First impressions can be deceiving though, and we thought we'd give them a chance.
Our meals began with a small house (iceberg lettuce) salad, which quite frankly, was unimpressive.
My wife had the Eggplant Parmesan. The eggplant was very chewy and tough. She finally had to stop trying to eat it. The server was very nice about it though and offered to take it off the bill, which she did. She also confided that the eggplant was received prebreaded, not prepared on site so the quality was somewhat hit or miss.
I had the Seafood Linguine which was very good. However, many of the muscles had broken shells and portions of the shells were scattered throughout the pasta. This made eating my meal a slow and careful process.
Both meals were accompanied by garlic bread. I tend to like my garlic bread crispy. This was rather doughy.
All in all it probably wasn't the best night for Kelsey's. Based on our previous experiences, I am more than willing to give them another opportunity to impress. But not...
Read more7/3/25 What happened to Kelsey's? I got carryout lasagna with salad & garlic bread. The bread wasn't toasted at all. The salad was inedible after I put the ranch dressing on that came with it. Don't know if it was the salad or the ranch. I threw it away after 3 bites. The lasagna was a joke. It was extremely greasy. I think there was 1 small noodle & a couple of tablespoons of cheese. I had added meatballs & pepperoni. The meatballs were fine. The pepperoni wasn't even heated up. The dish was full of sauce with an extremely weird flavor of cumin or cinnamon, whatever. I picked thru the dish & threw away more than half. A couple of weeks ago, I got the wedding soup & it was so salty that it was inedible & I threw that out. How disappointing. Quality trashed & even higher prices. I'm done. 7/6/21 Got carryout lasagna, chicken carbonara & wedding soup tonight. Lasagna full of meat, both dishes delicious & enough for 2 meals, love the soup. Carry out service really on top of things tonight. 5/21 I've been going to the PSJ Kelsey's for decades. The food has consistently been great for my family. We love the salads, pizza, gyros & many pasta dishes. I always ask for extra sauce because it is so good. I guess they're having the same issue as most restaurants & some other businesses around the whole country, a shortage of reliable workers, so have patience with the hard working staff...
