This is a great spot if you’re craving teppanyaki-style food without the Benihana price tag—or the goofy theatrics. KOTO delivers clean, fast-casual vibes with surprisingly good quality, and a menu that goes beyond just hibachi.
The Chinese-owned operation keeps things efficient and fresh: they make all their apps in-house (tempura, shrimp wontons, gyoza), and the menu even sneaks in a few Chinese-American takeout classics alongside the usual Japanese staples like katsu. There’s no pork on the menu whatsoever, and we didn’t detect any MSG in the food—which means the seasoning runs a bit lighter than you’d find at a typical takeout joint, but the ingredients still shine.
It’s open until 10 pm nightly (11 pm Fridays & Saturdays), making it a clutch late-night option in the area. Adjacent tenants like Great Wall (Chinese/Thai sit-down) serve very different concepts, so there’s not much overlap in their offerings.
Bonus Tip:
If you’re comparing value and experience, Saiko-i in Parkland offers a more upscale and polished version of hibachi than Benihana, still at a lower price point. But for affordability, speed, and quality, KOTO hits...
Read moreGreat experience at this new restaurant! We ordered the hibachi chicken and steak, Shanghai noodles, hibachi tofu, hibachi filet, chicken, and lobster, milk teas, and lots of crab rangoon. Everything was hot, fresh, and perfectly cooked. The tofu was nicely marinated and the vegetables were fresh and crisp. The lobster was incredible, some of the best lobster I've had anywhere (not exaggerating). The crab rangoon wasn't the most flavorful on its own, but dipped in the sauce they were delicious. We ordered for takeout, and they had the milk teas prepped but not blended before I got there, so they weren't sitting on the counter melting and it only took a minute to blend them up, which I thought was really thoughtful. If I had one critique it would be that there aren't a lot of vegetarian options, so if you don't eat meat or seafood you may find yourself limited by the menu, but everything you order will be cooked beautifully and served in generous portions. This place is definitely our new go-to...
Read moreWorking in restaurant everyday ourselves, we decided to go out to eat.. Heard about Koto being reopen in new style and location, we had to check it out! The place was casual and comforting when we stepped inside! The food was even better than the original Koto Sushi Hibachi! We like try the basic teriyaki chicken and katsu and they came out soooo tender and crunchy! It even came with a jalapeño sauce I’ve never had before… As a chef myself, I was so interested on their secret recipes! Turning basic dish into great dish, I can tell the chef has heart of making great food! They’ve also added ramen and boba tea into their menu and even my in-law finished it in no time! Ramen Soup was packed with so much flavor and pork belling was grilled to perfection! It’s a self serve restaurant but owner was so friendly that they actually served us and we had a great conversation about the secret recipes 😂 great experience and on our next day off, we will try...
