This bakery is awful! The service was terrible and the food subpar. We were waiting to be served, and were ignored as other people walked through the door and were helped.
The girl who did finally help us was nice. We got a large chocolate chip cookie, Italian cookies, two kinds of stuffed bread, and a red velvet cupcake. The Italian cookies were just ok, the chocolate chip cookie was hard and falling apart, the stuffed bread was disgustingly greasy. It was also cold....with no offer from anyone to heat it up. I put it on a stone in the oven at home and the grease covered the entire stone and ran off into the oven. The red velvet cake was not even the right kind of cake, and had regular white frosting instead of cream cheese frosting.
We would have ordered cannolis, but they had none.
When we got home my wife called to let them know that we weren't very happy with the service and product. The owner was even more rude than the staff. Instead of politely apologizing that we didn't have a good experience, she actually told my wife to "never come back!" She will get her wish...we will never be back and I'll be sure to let everyone in town know not to give this miserable woman...
Read moreThis bakery has improved a lot since it first opened. My initial purchases were less than stellar with some stale items and some items not quite cooked enough but I figured this was because they were getting the business up and running. I kept going back and now I'm glad I did because for the past year I have been very happy with all my purchases. My personal favorites are the cheese Danishes which are made with real ricotta cheese. The cupcakes are very good. I have given the cookies as gifts several times and always been told how delicious they were. I have never tried the stuffed breads but heard they are excellent. The plain Italian crunchy crust bread is light textured with good flavor. My only problem, as one other reviewer wrote, is what to choose! It all looks so good and they have so much to choose from. If you miss the rye and pumpernickel from the old bakery they sell those here as well. Service has always been very pleasant...
Read morewas at John Deere next door, mentioned I wanted to go to the other bakery. They mentioned it was gone and try Angelo's. Great recommendation, when I got there I had only one customer in front of me. I got served( take away pastry) immediately. My only problem was what NOT to take, everything looked so beautiful and tempting. I made a sample selection of a few and got some pizza to eat on way home. It was so good I almost turned around to get more, but as I was leaving I noticed the line behind me had grown quite long line as locals were queing up to get lunch. When I got home my wife sampled a number of the items I had purchased and asked when I would be returning to get more. All were delicious and pleasing to the eye as well. Stand by Marvin John Deere dealer as I shall be using you as an excuse to return to Angelo's often. Service was also very good, Some recommendations were made and accepted, all of which were great choices....
