Mundo Latino Market — Restaurant in College Park

I rate this place a 2 stars for a couple factors. First I’d like to talk about the restaurant inside the market. The food that they serve is good my biggest complaint is the service. It’s HORRIBLE. There are 2 lady’s cooking in the kitchen and when they’re busy and you go to order food. They won’t acknowledge you not even a simple hello I’ll be right with you a second. Matter of a fact they will look at you and go back to doing what they’re doing. Those 2 ladies need to learn some customer service. for gods sakes, at least speak to the client who wants your business and let them know they be with you shortly. Now on to the Latin food market. The place is a 3 stars. They always seem to be low on goods. Their drinks in the cooler section are always look warm and they barely ever have any drinks to buy it’s always have empty. They’re stock low in vegetables basically low stock in everything I want to come here and give them business but they never seem to have what I’m looking for and forced to go to another Latino market unfortunately. Ordered here yesterday for a small get together 18 pupusas. When we got home and started serving them out, we noticed we only had 17. We called mundo Latino to let them know of the incident, the gentleman who answered asked how we like to be compensated, we decided to add the missing pupusa to a later order. We ordered today after church 6 pupusas, including the 1 that was missing from yesterday. We paid for 5 today, I checked the order in the car before leaving the lot to make sure, and could hardly tell how many was in there. I went back inside and asked, “excuse me, I don’t mean to be a bother but could you please count the pupusas for me, it’s hard for me to tell”. One of the 2 ladies opened the box and said “on top we have 2 and..” looking at them mess on the bottom, simply said “there’s 4 at the bottom”. And I asked if the she was sure, told me “we don’t mess up here”. They got defensive and exchanged small passive aggressive dialogue and told them at the end “we all mess up”. I get home, the “4” at the bottom had 2 very thin pupusas, literally can say we actually only received 5.

Pedimos aquí ayer para una pequeña reunión 18 pupusas. Cuando llegamos a casa y empezamos a servirlas, nos dimos cuenta de que solo teníamos 17. Llamamos a Mundo Latino para informarles del incidente, el señor que contestó nos preguntó cómo nos gustaría que nos compensaran, así que decidimos añadir la pupusa que faltaba a un pedido posterior. Pedimos hoy después de la iglesia 6 pupusas, incluyendo la que faltaba de ayer. Pagamos 5 hoy, revisé el pedido en el coche antes de salir del aparcamiento para asegurarme, y apenas podía decir cuántas había. Volví adentro y pregunté: "Disculpe, no quiero ser una molestia, pero ¿podría decirme las pupusas? Es difícil para mí decirlo". Una de las dos señoras abrió la caja y dijo: "Encima tenemos 2 y...", viéndolas desordenadas en la parte inferior, simplemente dijo: "Hay 4 en la parte inferior". Y le pregunté si estaba segura, me dijo: "Aquí no nos equivocamos". Se pusieron a la defensiva e intercambiaron un breve diálogo pasivo-agresivo y al final les dijeron: "Todos nos equivocamos". Llegué a casa y el "4" de abajo tenía dos pupusas muy delgadas; literalmente, puedo decir que solo recibimos cinco.

The restaurant part of this place is ok. Pupusas are good and well priced. This place gets 3 starts because of the market part of the establishment. First occasion, my husband bought some hard cheese from here just to come home and realize the cheese had gone bad(This was back in the summer of 2020). The second occasion was a family member who went to buy a pack of hand made tortillas. The ones on top were fine but once he got towards the ones in the middle, those ended up being slimy(this happened a few months back).
