Sarku Japan Teriyaki & Sushi Express — Restaurant in College Park

I had a really disappointing experience with one of the cashiers today. When I asked about the status of our order, she gave me a rude look and snapped, “It’s not ready yet!” I asked if she could at least tell me how much longer it would take, and she just repeated in the same rude tone, “It’s not ready.”

What bothered me even more is that I was standing there for a while and clearly saw that our sushi was already prepared and sitting there. Only after I mentioned our order again did she finally start packing it even though the food was ready the whole time.

To make it worse, we were the first ones there. No one else was waiting when we arrived, and the staff didn’t seem busy at all. But somehow, other customers who came after us were served first and already left while we were still waiting. Our delay was completely unnecessary and caused only by her lack of attention and poor attitude. This kind of customer service is...

I've been coming to this location for a few years now because they have great food, fresh sushi, and friendly service. I've noticed there's been parking issues ever since the new store opened up next door. It is only terrible because the customers from the store next door takes up the 7 parking spots at Sarku even though there's already a big parking lot available for them a few feet away. Don't listen to the negative review about the towing. I was there when it happened and that person only got towed because they ignored the signs in front of the parking spots where it clearly says "Sarku customers only" WITH ARROWS indicating where you can and cannot park, so I don't understand where the misunderstanding comes from. BE CAREFUL! This place is not a good neighbor. If you park in one of their spots and change your mind and decide to go to Milk and Honey (in the same building), they will have you towed. $30 uber ride and $175 towing fee. There are signs but NOT on every affected parking spot. We were traveling and had our one day to see DC hijacked by this unscrupulous owner who is JEALOUS of his neighbors who gets more business. Food is good but do you really want to support a business that is not friends with its neighbor? Please consider getting your food somewhere else. We have always enjoyed this restaurant in the mall but we will not longer be purchasing anything at this chain.
