In addition to the bad experience below, we discovered upon returning home that when the MANAGER cashed out our bill he SHORTED US $10. My theory is that he did this thinking I wouldn’t leave a tip because I paid my half with a debit card. I actually left $10 tip (I normally would have given $20) despite the bad service. The next morning I went back to the location and spoke to a different manager. Initially I was met with an aloof attitude. After explaining our experience, he went back in and got the $10 and returned it to us. It was the PRINCIPAL Of the matter.
Visited this saltgrass location for the first time since living here last night and was highly disappointed in the food quality and service. The whole restaurant just gave off the vibe that they could care less about your experience. The steaks were overcooked and the quality of the food was obviously lacking compared to all of their other locations. My daughter and I ordered a steak and baked potato. Her potato was literally twice the size of mine and it was comical and we made a joke about it to continue with our meal. They did fix it which was fine. The tea was so watered down it became a light yellow in appearance and hardly tasted like tea. My daughter ordered a piña colada and it hardly had any alcohol in it. When asked to fix it the server just argued with her and told her that all of their drinks were like that. Rather than taking it to the bar and having them quickly fix it so we could continue having our meal and enjoy our experience she just continue to argue about the drink. I ask her to bring us the ticket and some to go boxes and a to go cup. Instead of bringing those items and our ticket she sent the manager to our table to “straighten us out”. Apparently we were being difficult because we noticed the low quality of everything. The manager came to our table with the typical corporate attitude which was very scripted and impersonal. All we wanted was for them to fix the drink so we could continue our meal but by the time he came over there and started over explaining everything and treating us like we were troublemakers our experience was ruined and we just wanted to leave. The server never came back to the table. The overall vibe we got off of this restaurant was that they are just business as usual and could care less about quality or their customers experience. We will never visit this location again and never recommend it to anyone. Eat at Sodalak’s... no more large chain...
Read moreWas not impressed that they no longer carry seafood fondue, we were told that only the Houston locations have it now. Food was ok typical service restaurant was it busy, but yet still had to ask several times for each item we requested ex steak sauce to go boxes etc. then as we are receiving our togo boxes one of the servers knock over the entire pitcher of ice cold water totally in my lap. Like I am soaked front to back looks like I just jumped in a pool. It shatters the glass and as they attempt to clean it up I’m stuck inside the booth literally sitting in freezing cold ice water. When they are finished with there attempt of cleaning it up still water and ice chips all over the floor and puddles as they remove our plates I finally am able to get out of the booth and I am compleltly drenched I mean soaked. At this point our server hands my husband the check which is $85 with a genorous tip and I call for a manager I said can I at least get some napkins or towels to put in my truck seats so that I don’t ruin the leather getting home? She said oh yes sorry about that. Didn’t ever once offer to comp my meal a piece of cheesecake nothing just I’m sorry. Seriously I am soaked front to back from the waist down freezing trying to keep from slipping in heels as I leave and I bet I’m sorry for pouring a pitcher of ice cold water in your lap. If that is the east customer Service they can offer I will return to the Houston locations because it’s worth the drive to have better service than that, I won’t return to salt grass in College Station, nor will I recommend it to anyone. Gringos is next door should have stepped it up a...
Read moreWent in with a group of 6 and everything seemed good. The waitress told us about the special they had. It was Redfish filet and it sounded very good so my wife decided to try it. It was very good when it arrived, but after a couple bites she found it to be raw in the middle. Told the waitress and she wanted to argue that it was a different type of fish, but she would take it back and let someone else look at it. A few minutes later the manager came out and said she t was undercooked and that they would bring her another one. She thought that was acceptable and they brought it out after everyone else at the table was done eating. When I went to pay the ticket I discovered that the waitress charged us twice for the redfish. It was as if they wanted us to pay for their mistake of sending out raw fish. The waitress disappeared so we had to go ask someone to find the manager for us. I didn’t get upset or even ask for the dish to be removed from the ticket at first, but when they tried to double charge us for their mistake I had enough. We’ve at at Saltgrass restaurants all over the state and have never had another location send out undercooked food, much less try to double charge us. I regret not taking a picture of the fish, but unfortunately I doubt we’re the only people that’ve had that...
