First the good: Ice cream is fantastic, servings are big which makes the prices not seem so bad. The place is kept clean and the environment is welcoming.
The bad: I dated a former employee at this place and she was treated horribly. The owners were very fair in some aspects, and not empathetic at all in others. I won't go too much into it but there was not enough people to cover the hours and everyone working had other obligations that naturally would lead to days where there were schedule conflicts. The last straw was when the employee was given an internship opportunity that she had been anticipating. She let the owners know a week in advance (as soon as she found out) and heard nothing back until the night before her scheduled shift. There were so few employees that no one else could pick it up. 2 days after that scheduled shift they let her go.
The owners need to understand owning a business is a full time job (50+ hours) if there is no permanent manager to run it. The gym I took over was run into the ground by similar antics due to the owner never being available to help out and refusing to give anyone authority required for day to...
Read moreAtmosphere: Upon entering, the name of the establishment stayed true to it's name and had the farmhouse decor throughout the building. The inside offered ample seating, but could be crowded if it got packed. The seating arrangement near the east wall was my favorite place in the building.
Service: Service was great and offered many suggestions as well as tastings for the various flavors that were in availability. They would also offer recommendations with what would go best with other flavors. They were prompt and attentive to each of the customers that were in the establishment when I was there.
Quality: I don't go out to get ice cream but I'm glad I was invited to try out this place with a friend that had said it was great quality ice cream. I couldn't agree more and the Strawberry Shortcake was amazing with Strawberry and Vanilla ice cream. Would highly recommend and will have to make my way back for a different flavor/type...
Read moreWanted a Regular size scoop of ice cream. Told the guy behind the counter that the flavor I wanted was empty, he said there was more in the back. He came back with a new batch but went to the empty container & scrapped & scrapped all the sticky 1/2 melted residue out if the empty container to ALMOST a Kid size scoop. I thought he was going to give me some from the fresh batch, but instead put chocolate syrup on my scoop & said "Here ya go". My ice cream was like soup before I got out the door. I've worked in an ice cream shop when I was in High School. We never gave a customer ALL the bottom sticky residue. Instead, added the wee bit of ice cream, in almost empty container,, to the top of the new batch, so not to waste any. Next time I want ice cream, I will drive across the parking lot to HEB, get a PINT of fresh,...
