1:15am. Hardly anyone in the bar. I am informed that “only one fryer is open”. I would have preferred something not fried, but I order chicken fingers. The fingers and the fries are over cooked and hard. Minutes later a couple comes in, asking if the kitchen is opened. They are told by a manager that they can order a “burger”, but are then directly encouraged to go somewhere else (I would have loved a burger). I then sat with an empty glass, in the near empty bar, waiting for beer #2, while observing the bartender to be clearly irritated with two other customers at the bar, telling them they were going to “have to wait”, something to do with the kitchen.
Still sitting here, waiting for a “check back” to tell them how horrible the chicken fingers are and to leave. The male bartender is MIA and the female bartender has been on the opposite side of the bar the entire time I’ve been here, talking to the same group of people.
Conversation from a drunk patron indicates that there may be some “under the table” keg sales.
It’s so nice to sit here and listen to the female bartender tell her stories about her bar drama.
I find it additionally curious that the listed website doesn’t even list/claim this location (Colorado Springs).
Apparently the staff do not coordinate. I just had the male bartender try to tell me he had to “lock the doors”, trying to get me to leave/stand outside in freezing temperatures, while waiting on my Lyft ride, which is 10 minutes out.
Truly pathetic service and environment.
Truly. F*ck this...
Read moreHorrible dining experience! Our waitress was very uneducated on the menu and couldn’t answer any of our questions. 3 of us at the table ordered drinks blinded since the waitress couldn’t answer our questions. The first drink was so horrible I almost spit it back out when I took the first sip. The other two drinks were not very good either but we decided to try to sip them down. I sent the first drink back and asked for a Long Island, which was horrible too but I was able to sip it down. We ordered our food and the wings were great, we ordered two flavors and both were awesome. We asked for our check and they still tried to charge me for the drink that I sent back saying it was made correctly. Correct or not, if they are trying to sell a drink that tastes that horrible, they need to revise their menu. It was absolutely disgusting! After talking to the manager, she said it is their policy that even drinks that are sent back are to be charged to the customer. After my husband explained to her how horrible the drink was, she said she would not charge us this one time but if we are ever unhappy with a drink in the future, we will have to pay for the drink. Following that, we are waiting for our check again and our waitress comes by in such a hurry trying to clean the tajble that she dumps an entire container of ranch all over me, my husband, and my purse. Needless to say, we will not be back. This was at the Colorado Springs locations over by a...
Read moreI wanted to share a recent experience I had at Back East, and I must say it was quite disappointing. As regulars of this place, it pains me to have to write this review, but I believe honesty is crucial.
On a Monday night around 7:15 pm, my partner and I decided to dine at Back East. To our surprise, the restaurant wasn't busy at all, with just a handful of people present. We thought it would be a perfect evening. However, our excitement quickly turned into frustration.
Firstly, it took over 40 minutes for our food to arrive. The delay was inexplicable, considering the lack of customers. Eventually, we decided to ask for our order to be packed to go instead.
We had ordered calamari and the Mexican burger. To our dismay, not only did it take an additional eternity to get home, but the calamari was completely raw. It was inedible and a major health concern. As for the burger, it wasn't even the right one we had ordered. It was a disappointing mix-up.
At this point, we were faced with a dilemma. Going back to the restaurant to get our order fixed seemed like a hassle, considering we were already settled in at home. Reluctantly, we made the decision to bear the disappointment and have a less-than-satisfying meal.
It's disheartening when a place you love disappoints you with such basic issues. We hope that Back East takes this feedback seriously and improves their service and...
