Read moreWe checked My Cellar out this past weekend and although we were very impressed with the food we did notice the service was lacking. We had a reservation for 6:30 for 2, when we arrived there was no one at the door to greet us so we were unsure if a host/hostess would be seating us, there was no sign directing on what do like most restaurants have. We had asked the bartender and we were told someone would seat us shortly, i'd say we waited 10 minutes or so, then the hostess (owner) said we could sit wherever so we sat down and about 5-10 minutes went by with no menus or water while other tables were sat and given menus and water. We got up and asked the bar for menus and then sat for another 5 or so minutes before the waitress came over. Service in general was very slow throughout the night, we weren't served our wine until 10+ minutes after the food was served. After sitting and observing the functionality of the restaurant I don't think anything service related was because of the servers. I think what we saw was management that didn't know how to manage anything. The servers would sporadically grab tables to help customers where I think they should each have a side of the restaurant they handle. Ultimately I would say I think management needs to create a solid structure and delegate roles, responsibilities, floor manager, etc. and the owners should step in where needed. These are all just observations and constructive criticism, I hope to see this business do well, they have an awesome location with probably one the best mountain...
Read moreWe had a mixed experience at this wine bar. It started out great—we sat at the bar and enjoyed a wine flight of 6 different wines. The wines were unique and different from what we usually drink, and the bartender was informative, which added to the experience.
However, things took a turn when my wife wanted a glass of wine from the flight. When we asked for the check, it took a frustrating 20 minutes for the staff to figure out the price because it wasn’t in their system. To our surprise, we were charged $22 for a single glass! The flight, which offered a decent tasting of 6 wines, cost $35, so the pricing didn't add up. After checking online, we found that the bottle of wine we were charged so much for—a Trimbach Pinot Noir 2021—only costs $35 a bottle. It felt like a rip-off.
The result was $77 for a flight and 2 glasses of wine, quite overpriced, considering the price range of the wine we drank. It’s a shame, as the experience started out really enjoyable but was spoiled by the wait time and overpriced charge. We won’t be returning and would advise others to think twice...
