At the Colorado Springs Barnes location it's always an issue using coupons. It's always a debate and the cashiers are incompetent at using them correctly every time. On 8/14/25 I had a buy a meal, get 50% off a second meal coupon. The cashier who seemed to be a manager or owner training staff had a mustache and glasses. I bought 2 large sandwich meals with fries and drinks and only got $5 back. Each of those sandwiches was over $20... I sensed something was wrong before paying and asked to see the coupon I gave the cashier. Apparently when I gave it to him he had immediately thrown it in the garbage so he quickly dug it out of the garbage to read it which I thought he did, but obviously didn't for a second time. He typed something in the computer so I thought the issue was resolved. Then when I actually read my receipt it was wrong again. I've had issues like this almost every time I've been to this Capriotti's location. Everyone's so casual at this location, unprofessional, and don't make you feel like a guest. The restaurant's unkept and dirty most times and employees seem extremely uninvested. Yah, they're friendly enough, but not attentive, caring, or competent. I feel like I'm getting ripped off every time I go here and I'm tired of having to tell incompetent people how to do their job, be disrespected, and debate the truthful price of my food. Employees are completely unremorseful for mistakes and have no customer service while smiling at you like the whole things a joke. The coupon issue is so consistent, it's almost like it's on purpose. I just sucked it up and didn't bring up the wrong bill AGAIN because it was late, I had my kids with me, I just wanted to get out of there as fast as possible, and I was so disgusted AGAIN. The lids for drinks were out, the floors were so sticky my shoes were making noise when I lifted my feet, the dining area was disheveled, the tables were dirty, and there were no lollypops stocked for the kids to have while we waited for our order. The last straw is that this guy was maybe an owner or at least a manager! No wonder this place always sucks when leadership acts the way this guy did. One or two times... Fine, but this has been my consistent experience at this location for over a year. I'm an idiot for continuing to go to this place. It's much better at the Cheyenne Rd location, but still not great. Foods ok, but it was better when I 1st started coming a few years ago. At Jimmy John's customer service is kinda blah, but at least at every location across the US that I've been to, I'm charged correctly, the food is good, and it comes out fast. It also doesn't cost over $50 without coupons! Do not go to this location and do believe the other poor reviews! The food is ok and you might get lucky and have a 5 star experience, but especially for the price, you're more than likely to have a poor experience and never want to return again as so many people...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am writing this review after an unacceptable experience this restaurant. My husband and I don't go out to eat often, so when we do, we choose the place carefully. We decided to have dinner at the Barnes location across the street from Costco off Powers.
We placed our order for two medium sandwiches and made 1 of them a meal with a cookie and drink. The total was just under $40 which is pretty insane in my mind, but we've been told how great this place is so we had high expectations. Normally you get what you pay for.
There were only two other families in the restaurant so we sat down and waited... And waited... And waited. We waited for an HOUR to get our food. At 30 minutes in, the girl realized a ticket never printed out and came out to let us know. It was already unacceptable it took that long to address or even notice the error. Once the team of FOUR employees realized we were waiting it still took and additional 30 minutes to get out our meal. There was no apology, no offering to make things right, no sort of any good customer service whatsoever.
There was a couple who came in after us and they had been sitting there 30-40 minutes and were getting visibly impatient, so we were not the only group negatively impacted by this situation.
When we finally received our food, it was mostly bread. I paid $40 for bread, tomato and lettuce... With the tiniest amount of chicken on a sandwich I have ever seen. I had the chicken crunch and my husband had the waygu cheesesteak. The amount of meat on his sandwich was laughable and what he did have was dry.
I work very hard for my money and this was a gigantic waste of not only money, but also my time. It seems companies feel they can take advantage of that these days, claiming high quality and high pay for their employees yet the customer is the one who suffers when standards are left significantly below expectations.
I understand things can get busy, I recognize the team had several online orders, however, guests eating in the restaurant should have priority. I have worked in the restaurant business for years and have been a manager in these exact type of situations. Never in my life have I seen such inattentive and uncaring employees. If you had a manager on duty, I could not identify them and there was clearly no sense of urgency to get out our food once the error was found.
This is supposed to be considered fast food! It's ridiculous we paid the amount that we did for the quality of the meal and the wasted time we spent waiting for our food. We do not plan on returning to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo disappointed with our first try of Capriottiās. After hearing good things about this place, the reality was far from expected.
First impressions when I walked in, pure filth. There was disorder everywhere, clearly a very poorly managed and trained staff. There were no customers and three employees in the store, two of them chatting it up in the back and one eating at a table. No one cared to recognize the guy (me) that just walked in. As I looked around at the trash all over the kitchen, dirty prep areas, dirty grill top, the tables out of order, chairs everywhere, trash on floor, and mini drink fridge about falling off the counter, my instinct was to leave but I had someone at home who was excited, like me, to try these sandwiches. I thought I could look past the appearance and the sandwiches would be OK. I was wrong.
After a little wait, a guy walks up. I say āhi, how are you?ā and was greeted with the welcoming response of āpick up, dine in, or take outā. I guess he was too busy wishing he was somewhere else to care about someone coming in to spend money on overpriced sandwiches. Ordered 1 meatball and 1 cheese steak, $27 total. Ouch. Was still hoping for a good outcome, here.
There were no other orders at the time, so they started to clean the old, filthy food that was stuck on the grill top/ spatulas and make the cheese steak. If there was a win, the food prep did not take long. He handed me a greasy bag with my sandwiches and I left.
The meatball sandwich was fair, but not hot. The cheese steak tasted old. Like rotten meat old and there was a lot of gristle pieces. It was terrible.
Sadly for us, Capriottiās was a one and done. Nearly $30 for bad service, bad food, from a filthy environment. No thanks, not again. I would hope that this location is just a poorly managed one and itās not across the entire brand. Who knows. For us, weāre not going to bother...
