Came in for some Saturday breakfast. Cute breakfast spot. But the food and drinks did not impress… Party of 2, joined the online wait list. Arrived and they couldn’t find our name. Joined the in person wait list, waited 20/30 minutes longer. After asking about the wait time they found our online wait list and sat us… at the first table as you walk in. -2 degrees outside so everytime the door opened we froze…
Moving on to the food… we both ordered million dollar bacon bloody Mary’s. Couldn’t taste any liquor and asked for another shot to add to the bloody Mary’s. Server told us they were already doubles so they couldn’t give us more liquor… if an 8oz double doesn’t taste like liquor it might be a problem… just saying. Also it doesn’t say on the menu they were double which might also be a problem for people not wanting a double… moving on to the bacon. What’s so million dollar about it? It was a regular piece of cold bacon. You know when bacon is cold and you can see the cold fat smeared on it. Is that what million dollar bacon is at this place? Cause it was gross to see, and not really what we had in mind when we ordered them.
Now for the food- we both ordered smoked salmon eggs Benedict with potatoes. When they set the plates down my first thought was “ummm did you not look at these on your way out?”, second thought “who do they have cooking in the back that would plate up burnt potatoes?” The potatoes were burnt burnt… like charred black on one side of every piece of potato… the onions cooked with them were burnt so crispy they were inedible ….
The smoked salmon Benedict looked good. But upon cutting into it realized it was almost a completely cooked egg… I don’t think I’ve ever had an eggs Benedict with well done eggs… I think that misses the egg Benedict point. Could be wrong but pretty sure poached eggs are supposed to be like that. Took a bite anyway, the food was cold. So on half the plate we have over cooked food and the other half is cold. Waited a while for the server to come back by. Asked if I could get different poached eggs. She asked if I wanted them more runny. Then brought out a cup with two barely poached eggs. Like still kinda slimy egg whites. Poured them on the salmon Benedict, tried to take a bit but after looking at the mess of a meal just opted for the smoked salmon and left the rest. We ordered two of these plates and they both came out the same. She came to collect our dishes and saw we hadn’t really eaten much and compt one of them.
Nice gesture but both dishes were a huge disappointment. Left hungry and very disappointed in our experience here.
Ran into someone later that day that said they saw us there earlier. I made a comment on how bad the food was there and they agreed saying it was trash and they would never go back there… (same!)
Do better FIRST WATCH!! $15 for cold burnt over cooked food and $9 Bloody Mary with cold bacon smeared in cold bacon fat? $25 a person and had to go get food after smh...
Read moreVery disappointed from my visit today. I moved from another state and used to eat at different First Watches back home all the time. The first thing I encountered was there is no sweetened tea other than blackberry flavor. I tried the blackberry flavor and didn’t like. I asked if they had simple syrup so I could sweeten the unsweet tea, but they didn’t. So I got water. Then I was reading this big description of a new sandwich they have called the Madame Croquette. It sounded really good so I ordered it with a side of broccoli cheddar soup. When the food came, the sandwich was almost nothing like the description. The description describes it multiple times as a grilled cheese, but there was barely any cheese on it at all. The description also says ham and cheese, but there’s no ham on it. They even took the sandwich back and doubled the cheese, but it still was nothing like a grilled cheese at all. And the soup was so salty I couldn’t finish it. The server was very friendly, but the food was just really disappointing. I’ve attached photos of the description of the sandwich and the sandwich itself.
Edit: At checkout they asked how it was and I explained the situation. They offered me a 20% discount so I added another star...
Read more$75 for family of 4, one of which got a kid meal. We will not be back.
They don't have hashbrowns :(
Urban Egg is way better.
I do not recommend if you have any food allergy.
We were told it would take 30 minutes to be seated. Over an hour later our table was ready. They gave us a a gift card fpr $20 at the end of our meal for the inconvenience.
We have an anaphylaxis allergy in the family and we were trying to figure out what sides would be safe. The server appeared to be overwhelmed with the task so we said a side of bacon would work fine. After a decleration about how the "allergy issue" (her words) was casuing her to fall behind in putting our order in to our entire table, she brought one single piece of bacon, that was less than inch wide, and told me the kitchen said they will not be making any accommodations for our allergy again.
That's pretty scary to hear for a person with a life threatening allergy. Therefore, we lost trust in what was in our food and our family member with the allergy just simply did not eat.
The restaurant is overcrowded and loud making it difficult to relax and enjoy our food. Conversation was not easy. We do not recommend...
