Closed more than an hour ahead of schedule - Staff Couldn't Care Less!! We live in the Bailey area and it is a 20-30 minute drive to this establishment. They publish their closing time as 10:00 pm on Fridays both online and on their door. We conversed with a young gentleman and calmly voiced our frustration and disappointment at their early closure only to receive an attitude of "yeah, ok...I let management know...are you done yet so I can go back to watching TV". This was very disturbing to both of us so we asked him to also tell management that we would not ever be coming back, to which he replied, OK and then went back to his booth seat to watch TV and hang with his co-workers. If you care to know the prelude...my wife and I both found ourselves working late and from past experience knew that we'd be able to pay a visit to them at 9:00 pm and have dinner. We arrived at 9:10 and were informed that due to it being a slow evening, they closed early and the cook had already gone home. I informed them that although I understand the reasoning, this is not a good practice for a dining establishment in a rural area where they are the only game in town at that hour and there aren't any other options other than fast food. I also tried to convey that it is a bit out of our way to make the drive there and to spend 30 minutes driving there only to find they're closed, when we could have gone somewhere else closer to us and would have arrived prior to them closing, really ruined our evening. I do not like to show up someplace 15 minutes or less prior to them closing which is why we opted for "3 Margaritas" vs. a closer establishment since we would have arrived with nearly an hour left before "3 Margaritas" closed. The gentleman we encountered was very disinterested in our viewpoint and treated us like our presence was an annoyance. This is the second time we've found ourselves unable to dine here as they decided to close the restaurant for the entire evening...perhaps the whole day...because of a Denver Broncos game. Seriously? You close for a game whereas most other places extend their hours to serve their patrons? That is twice we've been burned...there will...
Read moreNot bad, but not good either. Salsa was watery and chunky w/o much flavor. I had chicken fajitas. My salad, rice and beans dish came first and was served on an extremely hot porcelain plate rather than cast iron. My fajitas came a few minutes later, and were on a warm cast iron fajita plate. No sizzling cast iron to carmalize the onions and juices from the chicken..just a warm cast iron plate, unfortunately. The flavor was decent, but the chicken is cut into extremely thin strips, so it's not a seared chicken breast that is then cut like you'd get at a place that serves excellent fajitas. The chicken wasn't dry though, and the bell peppers and onions were good. So not bad, but could be sooo much better with just a couple tweaks.
I ordered a frozen margarita with salt on the rim. I received a partially frozen margarita that was 70% froth and 30% margarita..very strange. No salted rim, and it was served in a Hurricane glass, which I've never seen before for a margarita. My wife ordered a margarita on the rocks and received something with sprite and alcohol.
It's notable that your first round of chips and salsa are free, while additional chips come with a charge and additional salsa comes at another additional charge. The salsa dish is one of the smallest I've ever seen, so that would kinda bite if you actually like their salsa.
Dinner for two with one drink each came to $55, which is about $10 more than I have consistently paid in the very recent past for far superior Mexican/Tex-Mex meals with drinks. I've never heard of charging for more chips and salsa, but we didn't finish our first round since they weren't that great, so we didn't have to pay extra.
Service was very friendly and attentive, our table was clean, and the place appeared to be...
Read moreI came here today and had a very awful dining experience. First of all I have a slight allergy to bell pepper. I ordered the 3 coarse platter. Last time I ordered the meal before I must have told them no bell pepper because it came out with all green chilli. When the platter came out this time I saw a red sauce with bell pepper. I promptly told the server and he got very rude to my husband and I about not telling him. I understand I made a mistake but in no way is it ok for you to be rude to me and my husband about a simple mistake. He said he was going to fix the platter and charge extra for the right sauce. After all that he came back and it still had some of the red bell pepper sauce on it!!!!!!! He walked away before I could say anything and of course at this point I’m not happy with how we’re being treated. Finally when he came back after quite a bit of time I kindly tell him that I didn’t appreciate the way he was talking to me and also about how the food still had the sauce on it after he had made such a huge deal out of it in the first place. He doesn’t apologize or try and make anything right he just goes and gets me my check. When he returned I asked to speak to the manger because I obviously wasn’t getting through to him. The owner wasn’t any better. She argued with me about the sauce and didn’t apologize for the servers rudeness or that my meal still had the remaining sauce on it. I understand some of these places are family run but it almost felt like the both ganged up on us and that we were in the wrong. I won’t be going back with there EVER again after such a terrible dinning...
