My wife and I visited this ice cream shop for the first time yesterday. The shop was fairly convenient off of Rt. 285 E in Conifer (though it was a pain getting 285 to go onto a small road, under the road bridge, onto another road, and then on to another road to get to the strip mall where the ice cream shop was), it was located on the first floor of the two-story strip mall, the outside of the shop was decorated fairly well, we were not welcomed upon entering, the employee was not friendly at all and didn't smile and didn't ask us how she could help us, our ice cream choices were delicious but exorbitantly expensive ($16.78 for a cup with two scoops of ice cream, and a cone with two scoops), the dining room have adequate seating and was clean, the restroom was clean, and no music was playing.

This place would be five stars all day long if it weren't for one thing. One simple thing. The straws they give you for a malt or shake have to be the cheapest thinnest straws available. Which makes trying to drink one of their malts almost impossible. Chocolate and vanilla, you'll have to work for it, but try drinking a Samoan Cookie or Billionaires malt. NO WAY! I usually have to head home as fast as possible, to get a proper straw all before it melts. The employees are usually smiling and courteous and process the order as fast as it can be done. Granted, making a quality malt takes time. Three straws are almost enough to make me stop going there. ALMOST! This may be pretty petty for some, but I know there are many others like me, that can relate. Can we get some decent straws?!

Great ice cream shop in a strip mall off 285. Requires a u-turn on highway 285 to get there from the south. Ample parking, and we ate our ice creams on our truck bed in the parking lot. There is seating inside and outside the shop also. Love the flavors Liks makes, and we got half single scoops so we could have 2 flavors without adding more ice cream: raspberry chocolate chip and dark chocolate scoops and banana foster and Sleepless espresso scoops. They don't offer samples, and we've always loved the flavors we picked.

Response to Liks Reply:

Thanks for your response. We're well aware of the hours now... in the future, we'll go to a business that uses common sense when handling a situation like ours. If there hadn't been 10 ppl inside the shop, lights on, and the ability to easily serve us, we wouldn't be upset. It wasn't like she was in the parking lot driving away and we were expecting her to come reopen the shop. We were paying cash, no change needed, nice tip, etc.

She could have very easily said sure/yes. (and quite honestly, it was the attitude she had when she said it..she wasn't even nice about it at all.) Even had she said no nicely it would have made the situation much better.

We are adults. A smile and a lil respect go a long way.

Little things like this are why small businesses sometimes fail. It's the difference between creating a good/regular customer (relationship) who brings their family, has an office party, has birthday parties, brings their sports teams, etc, etc, and them not doing that.

And quite honesty, your response didn't help either. No compassion? No, "we're really sorry...", or anything that shows you understood our situation. We drove 20 minutes out of our way to come to your business.

Anyway, good luck, and "bless your heart" for your response. 😊

Inconsistent service and serving sizes. Today was terrible for both.

We have been here 3 times in the last week. When the person I believe is the owner is here, the service is friendly and the servings fit with other stores and the prices. Today was a different person running the store and serving sizes were noticeably smaller - to the point of feeling ripped off. On top of the small serving sizes, both waffle cones were noticeably stale. When I commented on the size, he responded in a flat, unfriendly voice, “That’s what a single scoop is.” No customer service, no apologies that it seemed small, or offer to provide some feedback to the owner - nothing. I followed up that it looked like a kids scoop and not nearly what I was being charged for. At this point the mood turned even more tense, he added a tablespoon of ice cream and rang us up. Every question or comment was met with the antithesis of customer service and I was concerned about it breaking out into a full on confrontation so I paid and left. My wife went back in to ask for a spoon for our daughter and herself so she could dig the remaining ice cream out of the stale cone. She commented that they were stale and that she couldn’t even eat it. His response was, “Oh really? Huh.”, with a shrug to...
